The authors document how America is facing an unprecedented spiritual, political, economic and moral crisis. Their book "The Promise of Jonadab" gives the Christian a game plan to cope with the troubled times that lay ahead, in their examination of the life of the Old Testament figure Jonadab. Through his faithfulness to God and passing his faith down to his descendents, Jonadab was able to prepare them to survive the future destruction of Israel. The authors also draw upon their own experiences rearing their children in a Christian home. They present good Biblical documentation that success in the eyes of God is to pass down a Christian heritage to one's children and "keep the flame alive."

Young Christians will especially take heart from Ray and Gail Moore's wisdom as expressed in The Promise of Jonadab. A book with great applicatoin on raising and teaching kids. A book with an interesting successful formula for having a high success rates for kids turning out right. The Prophet Jeremiah points to the descendants of Jonadab for an example to the Children of Israel, and that there was a line of many succesive Godly generations. Jonadab gives his children clear guidelines for living. This book analyses the guidance of Jonadab for us to use in this generation and then gives practical application on how to do it today. This is a must read for the parents of children.

Ray and Gail have provided a chanllenging and insightful book for the entire family. Designed especially for fathers, the book challenges parents to build a family legacy that will endure for multiple generations. In a society marked by crumbling families, the book is timely and on target. I encourage families to enjoy the book together. This book was so good I read it from start to finish almost in one sitting. I put it down only once becasue I had to because of my kids. I was greatly encouraged to think and pray big things for my family and even to not stop there but to pray God's power to be extended into the next generations. The anecdotes were timely and fresh from many different cultures and perspectives. The book has a definite perspective on the current state of our culture, but never bashes our culture. The authors only give positive solutions to the cultural decline by taking care of your own house, and praying and acting on behalf of you and your family. The story of Jonadab itself is quite a pot of gold nestled in the Old Testament. WOW! what a treasure the authors have found in the story of Jonadab and his descendants. I really appreciate how the authors relate Jonadab and his story to modern day stories of generational blessing. The stories are incredible and you can see how godly lineage is passed on throgh the stories of faithful christians through the ages. This is a great and quick read that can be passed on to all who are ambitious for the glory of God in their families, and not just their kids but to the ends of the earth through their childrens children.

Married for 40 years and pioneers in the growing home school and Christian K-12 Education movement, this couple provides insight to a little known man and his family legacy found in the Old Testament. Not only is the reader introduced to Jonadab, "the greatest dad in the Bible," but also you are introduced to some modern families who seek to build a family legacy today.

While the authors admit that our current culture is in decline, they do not dwell on hopelessness; instead they inspire you with amazing insights and practical advice as to how a family can indeed work now to build an enduring Christian family legacy.

This book would make an attractive gift for a young family just starting out or as a welcome encouragement for Christian families who are hungering to offer their children a legacy of vibrant faith in a time, according to recent studies, when young people are leaving the church at an alarming rate. This small book offers a glimmer of hope to Christian parents; to fathers in particular.

This is a very interesting book and one the parents should read because it shows the results of a Godly man has on many generations!
