Loved it! I couldn't put it down, had to read until I finished it. Sometimes frustrating, but an excellent read. Also the historic part seemed very real as have had the same setting in other books I have read. Will read this one again for sure. An avid Ellen Tanner Marsh Fan!

I must say that I admired the author's writing style, and I admired the fact that she took me to India, a place with which I wasn't very familiar. The setting was fascinating. The characters and plot, however, left a lot to be desired. Several times, I nearly quit reading before the end. I wasn't interested in the plot, I didn't feel strongly for the characters, and I wasn't especially rooting for them. When I read, I don't want to be able to put the book down until the final page has been read. I want to feel that special something that keeps me on the edge of my seat. This book just didn't have it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
