Therese Tappouni is an author, mother, grandmother, Somatic Intuitive Practitioner, Time Dimension Therapist, hypnotherapist and co-director of ISIS: Institute for Sacred Integrative Somatherapies. She lives in Oceanside, California, and Indian Shores, Florida.

More About the Author

Therese Tappouni was born in Springfield Illinois in 1942, and moved to Florida in 1958, where she has lived since--other than short sojurns in California. She has six children and three grandchildren, and is in a relationship with fellow author and therapist. She is the author of five books, a creator of CD meditations, workshop director, medical and clinical hypnotherapist, and a woman who leads other women on the path of their purpose and passion. She has recently co-created a project called "Tapestry" (which came out in late 2010) with the Grammy winning composer Michael Hoppe, writing poems to his beautiful compositions. Her latest book is co-authored with her daughters and is for children, parents and teachers: it's titled "Me and Green" and is a book about sustainability for the youngest among us. "Me and Green" has won several awards and the next book in the series has a working title of "Earth and Me". This book is for middle-grade readers and will come out in 2011. Therese's work find a home with anyone on the spiritual path that leads to an intentional life.

"The Promise" is elegantly written, yet a comfortable read -- as if the author and I were sitting together having tea and discussing the subjects covered. Ms. Tappouni has a wonderful narrative voice. Her descriptions of scenes and events made me feel as if I were right there with her during many periods in her life. The book appealed to all of my senses -- I could taste the food, smell the sea, feel the breezes described. A bonus is the hands-on instruction on how to practice proper breathing and meditation techniques, how to find your spirit guide, and more advanced practice for those already experienced in meditation. The many dialogues between Ms. Tappouni and her guide throughout the book are fun to follow, and filled with useful information for life, such as how to forgive old enemies, how to change negative feelings to positive, and how to love and be loved. I have given several copies to my friends so they can enjoy the book as much as I did, but I will never give away MY copy.
