This review is from: Promised Land: The Future of Israel Revealed in Prophecy (Paperback)
Having just returned from a trip to Israel, I was fascinated by this book. Derek Prince spent many years in Israel and saw the forming of the state of Israel with his own eyes.
Derek, who passed away a few short years ago, has a tremendously interesting writing style, linking Old Testament and New Testament passages to the historical and current happenings in and around Israel. If you want to understand more about God's chosen people and their land, this is the book I would read! Absolutely loved it.

Little to Commend,
By DarrenGJohnson "DarrenGJohnson" (Georgia, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Promised Land: The Future of Israel Revealed in Prophecy (Paperback)
When someone writes a Bible based book and eighty percent of what they have to say is based on very bad interpretation of Scripture, then it makes it very difficult to find nice things to say about the book. This is such a book. Derek Prince writes as someone who lived in Jerusalem in 1946 and says that he witnessed the great Biblical events. Prince calls the return of "Jews" to the "Holy Land" as the second Exodus. He sees all of the OT passages about the restoration of Israel as being yet unfulfilled. In order to take the passages that Prince quotes as still being future would be to ignore the entire message of the New Testament. What Prince misses is that Jesus reconstitutes Israel in and around himself. He is the true Israel and the Church is the true Israel movement. Faith in Jesus is the true way of being Israel in the world. Jesus is the seed of Abraham that has blessed the nations. Jesus has resown Israel back in the land. Jesus is the one who has drawn all people unto him and fulfills the passages about all nations flowing into Jerusalem. This book is modern day Israel centered and is not at all Christo-Centric. I do not recommend this book. There is not much fresh here and the writing style is quite dull. The good thing about this book is that it was not very long.
