5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool for parents and educators, December 10, 2009
By
This review is from: I Promised Not To Tell (A Story of Courage) (Paperback)
"I Promise Not To Tell' - A Story of Courage, is a children's book that gently approaches a subject that many cringe to even think about.

This book is one that should be read with an adult, parent or child provider. The illustrations by Al Margolis, are engaging, colorful and helps the child to relate and understand to Abby's story of reporting her father's inappropriate touching.

I Promise Not To Tell is an excellent and educational tool in helping children learn more about abusive relationships, allowing them to know it is safe to report inappropriate behavior by adult, even if it is a parent. Physical, sexual as well as verbal abuse is not acceptable.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Promised Not To Tell, November 28, 2009
This review is from: I Promised Not To Tell (A Story of Courage) (Paperback)
I Promised Not To Tell. by Kara T. Tamanini, M.S., LMHC.Eloquent Books, New York, New York. 2009, 41 pages

In a society where there exists an excessive amount of abuse towards children the book I Promised Not To Tell is an extraordinary tool. This is a great tool created by Kara Tamanini and her vast experience in working with children. It is a book that will help a child understand abuse is not ok. Further it helps the child understand there is nothing wrong with telling an adult whether they are experiencing abuse in their homes, in any other place, or if they have been abused in the past and are afraid to tell. It will also help and encourage the adult in the child's life to help report abuse. It will assist the child to open up and not feel they have to hide, and feel guilty. It will also enable the adult to help the child without having him or her be intimidated. This is a book that every psychologist, counselor, teacher, social worker, or any person who works with children must read and have.
