Book Description

**Adult Content 18+ Only**
Isabella “Izzy” McKenna just came out of a two year, well, she couldn’t really call it a relationship. It was more like two years of being dominated and controlled by him, a handsome and powerful man. When she finally decides to leave him, after he finally pushes her too far, she revives her friendship with her best friend from college.

Little did Izzy know that rekindling her friendship would also throw her into an amazing loving relationship with a gorgeous fun, but at times jealous, bar owner named Z.

Will Izzy’s horrible childhood and past controlling relationship keep her from finally finding the love that she’s always searched for? Or will he ruin the love that is finally just in her grasp?

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!!! May 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Wow! This was a FANTASTIC read. I was lucky enough to nab this one for free. I thought it sounded like a good story and she is a new why not give it a chance? I'm SOOOO glad I did. This story had it all. Romance, steamy love scenes (very-very sexy and not overly written), a "Dominant" ex and a psycho female ex, mystery, and did I mention SEXY! The main male character Z was all man and just down right perfect. Lizzy, the adorable main female character, well I felt really sorry for her. She had a rough up bringing and her ex was a heartless-commanding JERK! I couldn't stop reading this story. It was heart wrenching and you never knew how the plot was going to unravel.. PLEASE give this author a chance, you won't be disappointed.

I loved this book. Could not put it down. The love between Z and Izzy was sweet and hot! The secondary characters were a lot of fun. I especially liked Clark ( the dog that he was ). It definitely had me smiling a whole lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivated me from the get go!! Great Read! August 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
First... I see a lot of 1 and 2 star reviews popping up over the use of HE, HIM, and HIS... So, since I Owned the book, I figured I would read it and figure out why everyone disliked capital letters so much...

THIS BOOK CONTAINS BDSM LIFESTYLE ATTRIBUTES! (not positive ones, but still...) The Use of HE, HIM, and HIS was in reference to her ex-DOM. In the BDSM lifestyle (as I am..) it is very traditional for the Dominate to be addressed in capital letters. THUS, why the author put them in there like that..

Now, with that said...

This was pretty good. I got into this one pretty fast. Fell in love with the characters, except Clark. But it was definitely different that what I have read. It is about this girl who is trying to start her life over after a bad BDSM affair. It was pretty bad. I had a feeling about what happened, but I was just blown away at the reveal. It actually had a little action, some hot and steamy action, a little drama, and humor. Good characteristics for a good book.

1.0 out of 5 stars A DNF for me... May 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I forced myself to make it to 59% and then just deleted it from my Kindle. It was like being back in college (which wasn't too long along for me) at a frat party with a bunch of guys who treat women as disposable vaginas and silly girls who think that is cool. I really wanted to heroine to grow a set and walk away from the entire group of childish, immature jerks but then I realized she somehow wasn't bothered by men degrading women and being treated like a piece of a**.

This book could have been a much easier (and better!) read if the author had not made the completely ridiculous editorial choice of capitalizing the word HE and HIM and HIS every time the main character refers to her ex. Which is a much so that reading this book becomes tedious and miserable with in the first few chapters. Honestly, I can't finish it, it's driving me slowly insane.
To the author...this book had promise as an easily read piece of fiction. I will not be finishing the story.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for me. May 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Let me start by saying the premise seemed interesting.

***possible spoilers***

She was a former submissive, left her previous relationship to get away from a controlling jerk. So, she finds her best friend and falls for another controlling jerk.

The dialogue was horrible. Do people actually talk this way? If so, it isn't any one I would want to know. The hero in the book using the term F***ing W***e to refer to his ex was gross. Also, Matt and Clark were gross too. I wouldn't want to hang around guys that degraded women the way they did. Overall, the book seemed childish and dramatic to the point of not being believable.

Throughout the book the prior controlling jerk was referred to HIM or HIS or HE, super annoying.

Overall the book didn't do it for me. I think I would have enjoyed it more if Izzy was trying to get over her "submissive" tendencies and if Z wasn't a such a douche.

Glad I got it free.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing. June 13, 2013
By Kit Kat
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Besides all the spelling and grammar errors that others have mentioned I was expecting Voldemort to show up with all the He/Him references to her ex. The characters were all very immature. Now while a little immaturity is expected in people in their early twenties this was a bit much especially from those who were a bit older and running a business. The characters just seemed a bit erratic or scattered in their behavior. Not too mention all the rampant jealousy going on except for the main female character.

Spoiler Alert:
When we finally find out what happened with her ex and then meet him I couldn't help but be annoyed, and not necessarily for the reasons you might think. First of all, this was not a dom/sub relationship. Her ex was just a psycho who had no clue what being a dom is and that all relationships whether d/s or not should be safe, sane and consensual. Apparently her ex didn't get this memo and her introduction into this "lifestyle" and staying didn't make too much sense even given her past. It was hard to believe she was that stupid especially in this day and age. I must say there really isn't much said about d/s but the references are enough. Also what finally makes her leave can be considered borderline rape since she wasn't aware of who she was having sex with. If the author is going to write about doms and subs then doing research on the subject should be a given. The way this story was written gave a clear indication that the author had no clue about the subject or that she found the subject distastful and wanted to put it down.
Also, while the characters do get a HEA, the resolution with her ex left a lot to be desired. Now while the rich do get away with a lot it would have been nice to see him get his comeuppance and we just don't get that.

1.0 out of 5 stars Singularly the WORST book I can ever remember reading
Purely awful. I'd call it sophomoric, but that would be insulting to sophomores. Was this written by 13 year old girls? Was this even proofed by an editor? Read more
