If you've never been proposed to,all relationships ended before six months, never been "the One" but always "the Other one", hit 28+ and have it all but the boyfriend/husband and kids, treat guys way better than a lot of wives and girlfriends do, have been told by unavailable and available guys you are awesome but you are still single, this book is for you! It does take the Christian stand point so for those who aren't Christian inclined might find some solace if they open themselves up to it. It's for us gals who have tried and failed in so many ways, even sleeping around when we gave up and did it for gettin' ours. We aren't going to hell for our actions he basically says. Instead he says to leave it to God and heal ourselves on the inside which is VERY hard to do but do it anyway.

As a single, saved women in her late 20's I was getting discouraged with being alone. At times I got very depressed and questioned God as to why my life was not moving in that regard. I brought this book this morning and finished it in one sitting (it is not long). As soon as I began reading and meditating on what was being said I began to feel the Lord speaking to me through the book. It addresses issues such as loneliness, forgiveness, betrayal, sex and other important items. Each section brings you God's word and what he says in regards to each of the topics. I am reminded to put my faith to work and trust in God's word. He has so much more for me than I can imagine and I have to be obedient and wait for his time, not my time. If you are feeling a bit (or a lot down) about being single this is a great read to get your mind focused back on Christ and his promises for us.

I liked this book as it is a collection of Bible verses, commentary, and prayer on topics for women. While this book is intended for single women, I think the audience can be broader. As we all have a variety of women in our lives all at different stages in their lives.

This book covers specific topics such as: loneliness, friendship, betrayal, forgiveness, sex, healing, hopelessness, happieness, love, relationships, purpose, and abundance. These topics are so broad that they really touch more than the lives of just single women. Each topic has several pages of Bible verses, a brief commentary, and a short prayer.

T.D. Jakes has written a book that can be used time and time again. While for me this wouldn't be a good daily devotional, it is clear on a variety of topics and can be used as a wonderful resource for support. I really think this is a great book to have around when we are looking for hope and support on issues that trouble us.

This book is easy to read, and I really recommend this book to those of us that are women, and have women in our lives. Giving support to others through what you can read in this book could possibly give others a greater perspective. I definately recommend giving this book a try for single women, and even women that may not be single.

As a single woman, I experience a lot of emotions, and I wanted to be able to turn to the Bible for direction from God how to deal with the flesh, loneliness, enotions, finances and so on, and it was often difficult for me to be lead to a good scripture that would relate to any issue that I was dealing with. This book helped me so much. I think T D Jakes is a wonderful man of God, and God has blessed him to help women like me even though I don't belong to his church or know him personally. God lead me to his book.

I LOVE this book. Very inspirational, I have read through it over and over again, and sent messages from this book to my friends who were feeling down, sad, etc. It has scriptures and applies them to our everyday struggles and concerns in the wonderful way TD Jakes is known for. I highly recommend it!

This book, bibically based, confirms what women already know about themselves but reminds us and enpowers us to accept and use our divine worth when seeking love and mates. It is truly inspiring and can be referred to on a regular basis to encourage us. I especially like that it is written by a true man of God who understands that God has blessed women to be strong, and not accept anything or person less than their own worth.

This is an easy short read and has very comforting words for single women. It addresses many common concerns with scripture and solid biblical advise. It's been a real blessing to me.

Dr. Jakes,
This book has really Blessed and inspired my life as a single woman. It has encouraged me to use what God has Blessed me with and share with all single women to keep their eyes on the prize and because you are single does not mean God cannot use you to encourage, strengthen and Minister to other single women. In a lot of churches we donot hear the truth nor is it taught the way it should be. May God continue to bless you and yours as you continue to brake strongholds. Thank You for being obedient to the Spirit.

Betsy, SC

I will confess that I didn't read this book thoroughly. I read the introduction, realized it probably wasn't going to speak to me, and skimmed through the rest.

The author seems to focus on single women's problems with wanting to look good (i.e. lose weight), jealously/rivalry among other single friends, and tendency to settle for Mr. Wrong rather than waiting for Mr. Right. All of which are appropriate for singles in their 20s and even early 30s. However, if you're past your mid-30s then these things probably aren't really issues for you anymore, and this book probably won't speak to your needs now (that is my experience, anyway).

For older singles, I highly recommend "They Were Single Too" by David Hoffeditz.
