Great book!,

This is one book that when I read it, I had to read it again and again and again. Maybe it was because I could identify with some of the characters. But man, do I love this book!Even though I no longer buy non-Christian romances (save Lynn Kurland's books), I have to say kudos to Ms Stone. This book is one of the rare non-Christian fictions that I can read without having to worry about what my mom would think if she picked it up. Nick, Elizabeth, Christy, Larissa, Stephen are characters that stay with you. You'll find yourself thinking about the choices they made and how their lives were (forever) changed by giving love a chance. If you're someone who's been burned by love, this book will ignite a hope in you that it's still possible to find it again. If you're someone who's already had his/her great love, this book lets you know that there's still space for one more. And if you're someone struggling with unrequited love, this book will let you know that you're not alone and that if you don't give up hope, it can finally be yours. This book is one of my favorites and I'm glad I accidentally bumped into it.

This is the first of Katherine Stone's books that I have read and I will certainly be reading more!!! I feel like I know the characters and I feel their joy and their pain. A great book.

The Story Itself is a 5 Star!,

This review is from: Promises (Mass Market Paperback)
This book had an outstanding story. I liked the tastefulness, one doesn't need explicit love scenes to convey love. And all the characters (couples) were great with the exception of the main characters, Elizabeth and Nick. They were great at their jobs, very handsome people, and seemed very realistic, but I didn't like having to read nearly the entire book before they acknowledged their feelings for one another. Page 428 to be exact! And then Nick tried to stay away from her AGAIN!Nick was a devilish, very handsome man with many redeeming qualities and he should have at least been allowed to date Elizabeth once in a while. For example, a lot is made of an upcoming formal ball Elizabeth and Nick will attend. They don't go together of course; the entire event is nothing about them. They say hello in the hotel lobby and that's the end of it. He didn't even compliment her on how lovely she looked. These two rarely had more than a 3 second conversation, and rarely was it about themselves. I just thought Nicholas had such potential, but KS kept cutting him out of the story just as we were getting to know something about him. BR>Peter London's appearance was great; he made a good match for Larisa.
