Wonderful What-If Story!, July 8, 2011
This review is from: Promises (Kindle Edition)
I absolutely loved this story!! It was so wonderful to see a younger Elizabeth and Darcy. The solid love the two shared was heartwarming. Although there were many obstacles that kept these two apart, they always stayed true to their love. We get to see old Mr. Darcy alive for a bit, a more responsible Mr. Bennet, some very horrible Fitzwilliam relations (Uncle and Lady C, yikes!). The "love scenes" were very sensual but not graphic. Overall it was a beautiful story and I would recommend it to anyone.

Delightful Story, July 2, 2011
This review is from: Promises (Kindle Edition)
Wendi Sotis has written a wonderful story of a love that endures despite the appearance of broken promises and betrayal. The story begins in a bookstore where a young, precocious, intellectually gifted Elizabeth meets and consoles a grieving Fitzwilliam Darcy. Their friendship grows as they are sometimes in company due to the long-standing friendship of their fathers. Eventually, many promises are made. Obstacles threaten to derail the plans of our seemingly star-crossed lovers. Will they remember the vows they made at Pemberley? Will their relatives keep them apart? Will they discover the truth that has made communication between them all but impossible? Will their love survive years of separation? I fell in love with these characters in the opening of this tale and was totally drawn into their story as it unfolded. I highly recommend this story to Pride and Prejudice fans who love alternate reality stories. It's a big "What If...," but one that is totally engaging. I can only hope that Wendi has more stories to share.

A beautiful engaging love story, July 10, 2011
This review is from: Promises (Kindle Edition)
Wendy Sotis has written a wonderful, engaging, What-if love story. It begins when a 15 year old grieving Fitzwilliam Darcy meets a young, bright Elizabeth Bennet. In this story, it turns out that their fathers were classmates and long-standing friends. Their fathers continues their friendship while Elizabeth helps Fitzwilliam deal with the death of his mother. Their friendship grows into love and he asks Elizabeth to marry him. When he seeks Mr Bennet's premission, Mr Bennet request Fitzwilliam wait for 8 months till Elizabeth is 17 years old. Allowing her to one coming out season. Fitzwilliam with a heavy heart agrees. Unfortunately for our dear couple, 8 months is a long time. During that time- death, fire and interfering family members are some of the obstacles that keep them apart. Add years of separation and miscommunication, misunderstandings threatens to separate the young loves for good. I highly recommend this Pride and Prejudice What-if love story. It is a story about how true love can find a way despite interfering family members and adversity. Beautiful, beautiful story.
