About the Author

Author, poet, and publisher Kathryn E. Darden was educated at Lipscomb University where she graduated with honors. She became an award-winning powerhouse in sales and marketing through her work with organizations including Southwestern Publishing, Comdata Networks, and Ramada Inns. After a successful career in sales, Darden accepted a position as Director of Development for Nashville Youth for Christ (YFC). While working for YFC and Koinonia Ministries, Darden accepted the challenge to become an event planner, developing and promoting fund raising events for ministries and other organizations. While raising funds and awareness for YFC, Darden became aware of the need for a non-denominational Christian publication that would give ministries and churches a stronger voice in Nashville. She launched the Koinonia Concert Calendar in the late 1980s. That publication grew into Christian Activities Magazine in 1992 and the Christian Activities web site in 1996. Since then Darden has given voice to many Christian authors as well as publishing several industry directories, compilations of Christian poetry, and other books for the past decade. She also works as a publicist and a promoter, helping Christian authors, musicians, and entertainers get media attention and visibility.

This review is from: How to Promote Your Book on a Shoestring Budget (Paperback)
Kathryn has done a beautiful job giving a detailed way of promoting your book without investing a ton of finances. She starts at the beginning of doing your background work to the end of checking your checklist and checking it twice. There is alot of meat and insightful material in between the two that will give any author fantastic insight of how to promote your material without spending a bundle.
Thanks Kathryn for writing from your knowledge, experiences and research to help others move along quicker to get their material promoted and out into readers hands.

Authors who have self-published a book are not going to get any promotion except what they do themselves. This book gives step by step ideas for how to set up and implement the kind of promotion needed to move your book from the printer to the public.
