5.0 out of 5 stars Reggie Rocks.... BUT
No doubt- promotional copy is an awesome CD by the infamous Reggie and the Full Effect. However, on the new Re-Issue of Greatest Hits, they have this bonus track (everyone is crazy) plus Trilogy of the Bling, Raining Blood, etc... So, I'd save your money by just buying the regular edition of Promotional Copy & then buying the Re-Issue. That way, you get 2 for the...

3.0 out of 5 stars three stars is by no means a crime.
I give this record only three stars, but I don't mean to say it isnt worth a listen - probably listen plural. I actually really enjoy a bunch of songs on this album, but I cannot say I enjoy it as an album. Some songs, which are there just for humor's sake get rather annoying after a couple of listens. the inevitable, doot doot pause - skip song, occurs...and then we...

Some songs, which are there just for humor's sake get rather annoying after a couple of listens. the inevitable, doot doot pause - skip song, occurs...and then we discover that the album isn't long at all. Other songs are just so great, gloves, something I'm not, all of the actual song songs. Great songs, and you will definetly find a place for them on your mix tapes, or cds if you're technically hip, but as far as an album goes, meh - I can't give it the five that some of these songs deserve.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get Full Effected!, March 28, 2001

This version of 'Promotional Copy' is very unique because the song "Everyone Is Crazy" is on it. Which before you could only get it on a 7", with not so good quality. But the music on this cd is amazing. Reggie has a lot of catchy moog notes, heavy giutar riffs, the Cymbals going crazy and James's relaxed, loveable voice put together to form a pungant flavor. With a little bit of silliness, mocking gangsta rap, Dance/Techno, a line dance song and even making fun of an 80's British guy, who couldnt love it?! The entire cd isnt a joke, they just have a few funny things along the way. I have both Greatest Hits and Promotional Copy and they are BOTH MUST GET CD'S!!! For anyone who likes Emo/Indie Punk or just underground stuff! Five Stars, Baby.

3.0 out of 5 stars Weird Man!, April 2, 2001
This review is from: Promotional Copy (Audio CD)
I don't quite know what to say after listening to this. It's very weird, different and good at the same time. It covers so many different styles of music and jumps from one track into the next. I mean you have an almost hip hop groove going on and then you have really heavy rock stuff. Some of the parodies are kind of funny, but most are just annoying. In fact, only three or four of the songs are worth listening to. These are the only real songs that actually have any length. I heard that some members of the Getup Kids are in the group, but the Getup Kids' stuff just blows this away. I don't know if this is their idea of creative expression or what, but they could use their talent a whole lot better. The last song "DWARF INVASION" is kind of funny because it does sound kind of like the stuff that they make in Europe. Also they have a retro sound in a bunch of their songs. I will say that the album is one of the most original and different I've heard in along time, but that doesn't mean that it's any good. So I give it three stars and don't think its worth your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressive, December 12, 2003

I saw Reggie and the Full Effect open for Alkaline Trio on the Vagrant Tour in Cleveland..They were impressive. I hadn't heard any of their stuff before seeing their performance, but I was immeditaly hooked. Very catchy tunes, lots of onstage energy, and you could just feel the music. They also covered Raining Blood by Slayer which was really cool. Not only are these guys good musicians, but they're FUNNY as hell too! These guys are definatly worth checking out if you're into punk/emo or you just wanna try something new.

Too many skits - not enough songs. Granted, some of the skits are hilarious, no doubt, but, these guys know how to write some damn good tunes - should have put a few more no kidding songs on the album...

4.0 out of 5 stars Actually a 4.5, June 4, 2002
This review is from: Promotional Copy (Audio CD)
This is a great album. It is so much fun to listen to with some great emo punk with keyboard-electronic background music. You can't take this album seriously, it is meant to be funny. The lyrics are ridiciously simple but you don't care cause your busy doing the robot dance in your car to the music. You just can't help but rock out with this cd. Most of the songs are really good even though they are kind of kidding around. Some of the members of the Get Up Kids are part of this made up band. It sounds like no other emo or punk band you've ever heard but you should enjoy it if you like some of the more pop sounding emo punk style, especially if you like the Get Up Kids. My favorites are #13,2,3,8 and all other songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one fun as hell CD!, October 29, 2001
This review is from: Promotional Copy (Audio CD)
Alright, this album is just pretty darn awesome. Now, I know if you're thinking of buying the Import Bonus track cd, you're probably already a pretty big Reggie fan. It costs over 30 bucks on Amazon ( I was able to get it from a friend for about 20 ), but if you can find this, I urge you to buy it. Everyone is Crazy is an awesome song. The key to liking this album, is going in with a fun attitude. If, you have been to a Reggie show, then you know that they are all about fun. Bottom line: this cd is tops.
