It can also be used as a self-study course for adults who already speak English and would like to improve on their accent. A CD exists to provide models of the 35 American sounds in words and phrases with pauses for repetition.

About the Author

Fortunato Brown is a Peruvian linguist with many years' experience teaching English and Spanish in Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, and now in the US. He has published several textbooks for the teaching/learning of English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese. He is also the author of "How Latinos Learn English," a book published recently which tells English speakers how they could help their Latino friends, relatives or loved persons learn English faster, while at the same time they improve their Spanish.
