What do we use scotch tape for, anyway? Why did I buy this? I certainly don't need anything else to clutter my already cluttered surfaces as I try for something I imagine to be approaching minimalism. On the other hand, there are those moments (what, twice a year?) where I need scotch tape and one might as well have it out there. The concept of Good Design would seem to argue that having a formal dispenser for scotch tape when you don't really use the stuff is actually Bad Design, but hey, this is not a treatise on Design. I bought it when I don't need it. I have it out where scotch tape would never see the light of day, so that's all that needs to be said, no?
Well, actually, as far as Design goes... You can not use this in a one handed operation, unless it's sitting on a non-slide surface. If it's sitting on wood or glass, it will take two hands, so as a scotch tape dispenser goes, one star is lost. Often you have one hand too busy to hold a dispenser. If you aren't careful, you WILL scrape yourself. So far I have not drawn blood. Still, given the nature of the scotch tape dispenser as delivered to the store---a container nearly as perfect as the Milk Carton---this is worth it. So you don't use scotch tape more than twice a year.
Make room for it anyway.
