The Legendary Son House & His Delta Blues - A Little "Raw & Unpolished", But Very Good Blues!!!!!,

This is a very good album cd by the late/great Son House. On the back it list 21 songs, a lot of these songs have a part 1, and a part 2. Some of the songs include: "My Black Mama" Pt.1 & Pr.2, "Prechin' the Blues" Pt.1, & Pt.2, "The Jinx blues" Pt.1 & Pr.2. Some other songs I liked include: "Levee Camp Blues", "Government Fleet Blues", "Walking Blues", "Delta Blues", "Low Down Dirty Dog Blues", "American Defense" (about WWII), "Am I Right or Wrong", and "Country Farm Blues".
This is a very good cd package, it contains a booklet & pictures of Son House with Skip James & Mississippi John Hurt. Like I mentioned in the title it is a little "raw & unpolished", but you have to consider the times and conditions, & etc. when this music was recorded. This is a very good cd & is probably one of the best by Son House. I like Son House's blues in this cd very much. Son House was a very talented bluesman. If you're interested in the blues, I highly recommend this one. Thanks!!! |
