OPINION OF A FAMILY MEMBER,
By
This review is from: Property Of Folsom Wolf (Paperback)
I HAVE TO AGREE THAT THE LITERARY ABILITY OF THE AUTHOR IS NOT THE BEST; BUT, THE FACTS OF THE BOOK ARE PRETTY ACURATE. CONSIDERING THAT ONE OF THE VICTIMS WAS MY SISTER, I FEEL I CAN SPEAK AS TO THE ACCURACY OF THE FACTS. CYNTHIA COFFMAN MAY FEEL THAT SHE WAS MISREPRESENTED BUT, AT LEAST HER VOICE CAN BE HEARD...SHE SILENCED MY SISTER WITH THE HELP OF HER ACCOMPLICE, JAMES MARLOW. MR. LASSETER DOES A VERY GOOD JOB DEPICTING THE PAIN AND SUFFERING THAT THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES WENT THROUGH AS WELL AS DEPICTING THE EVIL THAT CYNTHIA LYNN COFFMAN AND JAMES MARLOW ARE. ITS A PRETTY GOOD BOOK, I THINK.

lots of details,

Typical a lasseter book. Meaning he always writes with passion, and has an eye for details, backgrounds of victims and murderers. It has lots of pictures. It shows you how Marlow and Coffman where raised how they met,and how they spent their honeymoon (with 2 savage killings) You will hear about the victims and their family. Lassiter wrote this book 1 to commemorate the victims Corinna Novis, and Lynel Murray and 2 because he wanted to examine the lives of the couple that killed them, in the hope that he would get an answer why they did what they did. Did he understand? Is it understandable? well not for me.But definitely a great book.

Good True Crime for the True Crime Reader,
By Estelita Rodriguez (Portland, Oregon) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Property Of Folsom Wolf (Paperback)
Cynthia Coffman sits on California's death row bitter and full of anger still. I was a paralegal working on her case and when she found out I read this book she became enraged and had me removed from the case by complaining to the lawyers, the judge, everyone. She does not want anyone to read this book. Her reaction only makes me believe this is a pretty accurate account of what took place between her and Folsom Wolf in their murderous spree. It is well written, well researched and a good true crime book. Recommended reading.

Folsom Wolf Review,
By Douglas E. Chaney (Richmond, Ky. USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Property Of Folsom Wolf (Paperback)
I borrowed this book from my parents and read it without putting it down. But I enjoyed it so much because I am from Pine Knot, Kentucky. Everyone of the people that they discussed in this book, from Kentucky, I know or did know. It was weird because until I read the book I never knew these things about those people.I am a college student at Eastern Kentucky Univ. and I am going to let everyone I know read the copy that I bought. I bought more than one copy to get it around faster.

Good Book.... FACTS??? NOT SURE>>>,
This review is from: Property Of Folsom Wolf (Paperback)
Well... First and foremost, James "Greg" Marlow is my cousin. I write a letter to him in san quentin state prison about once a month. Also I have read the book, and in speaking to Greg through his letters I am unsure as whether or not I believe the book is true... Everyone can say what they want but its a little different when you hear it straight from the person accused.

Could have been written better,

This review is from: Property Of Folsom Wolf (Paperback)
Mr. Lassiter obviously possesses outstanding writing talent. However, the way he juxtaposed the order of events, made this interesting tale lack suspense or impending doom. Not confusing, just boring. Too much (the last third) of the book is post-capture, courtroom, and thankfully, prison.

Has everyone who read this book met Greg and Cindy?,
This review is from: Property Of Folsom Wolf (Paperback)
I'm not going to review the book. I'm just going to say...
I'm the guy on page 258. The guy who made the "Sinful Cindy" sign. With Print Shop on a Commodore 64. I met Greg once, in the Maya Inn where she tended bar. Since everyone else who wrote a review knows them, I thought I would introduce myself.

Very well written and factual.,

I think this book was well written and gave the facts of the case very well. I had a little more insight into this case than the average reader. Mr. Marlow's 4th wife lived with me for 3 years after the final trials and the books gives a good account of the case and a good biography of Marlow and Coffman.

Mr. Lassiter gave this reader an eye view of a very gruesome murder. His expressive words and detail of the account was sensational. I look forward to reading more of his books.

Entertaining but untrue,

I am a huge true crime fan. I devour them all. But you cannot write a true crime book without interviewing all persons involved. If you do, you only have half the story.
This fellow also lies a little bit. Because of that I wonder what else he lied about or took fictional liberties with. I know Cyndi and she never spoke to this man - ever. Many of the facts listed in this book are not true. Some are stretched for literary finesse. If your looking for a good read this is it. If you r looking for the truth, it's not. |
