More About the Author

Katherine Applegate's many books include the Roscoe Riley Rules chapter book series, the picture book The Buffalo Storm, and the award-winning novel Home of the Brave. With her husband, Michael Grant, she wrote the hugely popular series Animorphs, which has sold more than 35 million copies worldwide.

Katherine was inspired to write The One and Only Ivan after reading about the true story of a captive gorilla known as Ivan, the Shopping Mall Gorilla. Let me just say that I was up until 3 in the morning last night reading this and I don't at all regret it!!! This was a very cool Animorph book. The ending came fast, I wish there had been more but it wwas still awsome!!! K.A. rocks! To the person who wrote the review that said Animorphs were losing their touch: NO WAY!!! Animorphs are still the coolest book around so give them some credit. The past two Animorphs have been some of the best so far, K.A. and Animorphs are awsome!!!

This was a pretty good book. First off, before you read this, read the Hork Bajr chronicles. In this book Aldrea returns. At least her mind does. The last remaining Arn comes to Earth, saying he has Aldreas mind. Before ahe died, Aldrea good her profona, or something like that, tooken. Everything she new, thought, felt went into storage. Now she is brought back into Cassies mind and body. They share one body and quest to find hidden Yeerk Weapons. After searching everywhere on the hork bajr homeworld, they finally find them. When they get back to Earth, Aldrea doesn't want to leave. Ax threatens to kill Toby, her grandaughter and seer, and leaves. Confusing? Read the Book. You'll be glad you did.
