left me hanging--no, swinging precariously--from a cliff,

This review is from: Prophecy: Book Five of The Blending (Mass Market Paperback)
This book had me in its grasp the entire night after I bought it. I seriously _could not sleep_ until I found out what happened. I stayed up until about 5. What happened with Vallant and Tamrissa was almost satisfying (I say almost because they've been feuding or pussy-footing since Book I and I got sick of it), and yes, Naran and Rion are overly sweet together, but Rion is still my favorite. It just amazes me how a pompous jerk can change into a caring, sympathetic, sensitive person. A little too perfect, but if that could really happen...it gives one hope. At the end of the book, since it was Book V, I thought oh good, Sharon Green'll wrap it all up now--but yet again, I find that there will be another series...sigh (but a good sigh--more books!). The demise of the baddies was darn cool, and I just barely pitied them (except Delin. He was pure evil).

Sharon Green keeps you coming back for more.,

The book was very good, and once again you reach an ending you never saw coming. The fate of all of the "evil" characters is very satisfying. You ALMOST feel sorry for them. New threads appear and others are left open for great possibility in the upcoming trilogy.I was a little disappointed with the length of the Tamrissa/Vallant thing. They knew they wanted each other - but I'm glad the way it ended (If you read this Sharon - no more games! They may not see perfectly eye-to-eye, but keep them together!) The dialogue was a bit heavy, but the blending action was great. An excellent read, and it will leave you hungering for the next trilogy. P.S. - Give Naran a cover in the next series, and a full-face of Jovvi would be nice too!

Thankfully not the last for these great characters,

I was thrilled with Amazon when this book showed up in my hands the day that it was released. It wasn't long before I had finished another great book by Sharon Green. I was a little surprised, though at other readers' comments, because I didn't have much of a sense of closure at the aside from Tamrissa and Valant's relationship, and I thought that the resolution of the heroes vs. the seated five was a little anti-climactic. Still, I was sucked in to this one and I will be holding my breath for the coming trilogy. This is a great series with fascinating characters and a wonderfully created world. I suggest that if you start it, buy all five books at once so you can read them as fast as you'll want to!

Vapid, juvenile books,

I will admit that I bought all five of the books out of curiosity--I wanted to know what happened to the characters--but I can't claim to have liked them. The characters are wholly unrealistic, the writing style is juvenile, strained, and uninspired, and the plot drags on repetitively. If you want to read a book where the protaganists are all goody-goody gumdrops and the antagonists are pure evil without any reasonable explanation, where the writing sounds like it was written by an seventh grader with a deadline, and where each segment of the story is retold five times (one for each character), then perhaps you will find this book enjoyable. If you actually do have the patience to wade through all that garbage, then I will admit that Sharon Green had a good idea to begin with. It just could have been executed far better.

I hate not finishing a series.,

I have to finish this book, not because it is enthralling but because I read the first 4. This book has a contrived feeling. i.e. Lorand just now lets us know he is an expert poisoner! Please. I was fairly disappointed how this book has been wrapped up.

This is probably my favorite of the series. I love how the author goes so deep into the characters emotions and problems. The only thing I really dislike about the series as a whole is the Tamrissa, Vallant thing. Tamrissa gets annoying after a while. But the rest of the characters are great and I love the detail put into her writing.

After really liking the first book, and not being too thrilled with two through four; this book made up for it. It would have been perfect if Ms. Green could get rid of telling the story from so many points of view. There were a few surprises here -- good ones too. I'm still not sure if the five have faced the ultimate test. There was a great climax to this book; but not the one I was expecting. What Ms. Green DID leave me expecting was the next series in this world. I've read a lot of her books, they weren't that great. This series is MUCH better. Ms. Green, if you read this: How about a name other than "the Empire".

I loved it! Sharon Green is an excellent story writer; her ideas are fresh, her characters are life-like and believable and the plot was deeply intriquing. Her descriptions go beyond being just "good"; she dives into emotions and appearences with a beautiful grace and ability. The only complaint I have is that the series ended. I wish there was more!

With Ms. Leeds I'm afraid. I thought the character development was pretty shallow. Or maybe the characters were just shallow. I gave it 2 stars since it could not have been all bad. I finished it.

I completely agree with the vast majority of the reviews: this series is addictive. I picked up the first three not long after Book 3 came out, and had to check for the next installments every time I visited a bookstore. Unfortunately, I spotted the last one during the week of my finals, but I still had to read it that very day. I am not really a fan of hardcore fantasy, but these books blended (no pun intended) the elements of a standard novel with an interesting spin on magic. While I don't have the criticism that some had on the amount of conversation, I do feel that there was too much plot summation in Book 2-5. Obviously in the beginning of the novel this is vital, but she repeated the plots of the previous books throughout the text. Needless to say by Book 5, this began to build up and get annoying. Despite this little flaw, I really loved the series and eagerly await the next trilogy!
