The Prophecy,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Prophecy (Daughters of the Moon, Book 11) (Hardcover)
I loved it. I mean Catty finally comes to face the past and kick it's arse! She deals with everything her mother told her (her birthmother, not Kendra). I liked the fact that it circled around Catty and it was as if Catty was the only character in the book and it was a monologue. I loved meeting Kyle Ormond( a guy who wanted to meet me), who is one of the main characters of the new series Ewing is writing "Sons of the Dark" which is awesome cause its tied in with DOTM....very cool...and you find out Kyle isn't that ordinary and that's awesome....I just felt bad for chris...Jimena is AWESOME. I know what she is....(Refer back to #10 for more details....) I mean at first one would think "That's Vanessa" but Vanessa is still a daughter so its not her. Their powers are growing bigger and bigger.....and I think #12 may be close to the last one...(It's centered around Tianna, I believe) Anyway read and be well... May the Godess the protect.

Best book so far!!!,
This review is from: The Prophecy (Daughters of the Moon, Book 11) (Hardcover)
OKay I have to say Serena WAS my favorite, but now I would have to say Catty, how could you not? This story had the best plot, and Catty didnt make stupid choices like the girls did in the other books, she actually thinks a bit more clearly. Others said that Catty and Chris should have stayed together, well yeah maybe if he didnt lie, it was doomed anyways. And Kyle, I love him, I thought they were a good match, but then you read Sotd and realize there not together anymore...whatever, maybe theres still hope!! I love this book so much, I am getting sick of the whole Serena and Stanton thing, I used to think they were so exciting and interesting to read about their forbidden love, but now its just getting old, that why I liked Catty and Kyle, and its not like she wasnt sad, she cried over Chris, plus its about time she really has a relationship she complained in the early ones about not having a bf, and she even thought in #11 that she felt left out, since she was the only one without a bf, which I think a lot of people can relate to that out of the loop feeling!!

The Prophecy,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Prophecy (Daughters of the Moon, Book 11) (Hardcover)
This book is awesome! It's so exciting and unpredictable! But the characters have changed so much since book 9. For instince Catty is really self-conscience, Vanessa is a lot more rebelious, can control her powers a lot better, and gets even more brave than she already was. Tianna's powers weaken and she seems less confident. Catty also begins to get suspisious of her for some very good reasons... Serena's power gets a lot better, but she seems really nosy and is always looking at parts of Catty's mind that she shouldn't. She's also hanging out with Stanton a lot more and hardly ever hanging out with the other daughters. And then there is Jimena, who's intuition seems to be so in tune that she shows up just in the nick of time to rescue the daughters on more than one occasion.

I just got this book yesterday and read it in one night!! It was sooo awesome!! Well, if you haven't read it yet, here are a few tidbits about the book:- Serena seems to have changed: She's so obsessed with Stanton and doesn't really spend time with the Daughters anymore. okay i suggest you buy the book if you're a real DotM fan like me. =)

Heck of a lot better than #10,
By Charmaine O'Neil (Kansas, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Prophecy (Daughters of the Moon, Book 11) (Hardcover)
I picked this book up last night at the local library, and i finished half of it in 2 hours! This was so much better than THE TALISMEN (sorry maggie)
The Secret Scroll has been sold to the musuem, and everyone visiting it is getting a little sick. Catty and the rest of the Daughters then try to steal it back, to save mankind (of course!) The scene where the girls try to steal the Manuscript back is quite comical, almost a 3 stooges movie. AND we have another love interest. and he's a bad boy. literally. This book is quite a rollercoaster between one emotion of betrayal and hate to loving that person and wanting to jump down his jeans! i can relate to Catty, feeling a little insecure about herself because all her friends have boyfriends and she doesnt. The scene w/ Chris and Catty is extremely sad. She meets her father, some powerful Inner-Circle Atrox dude. I finsihed this whole book in one sitting. it was great. i cant wait to read the 12th book, and she better stop writing her male counterpart series and finish this one. I NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!

Nefandus,

This review is from: The Prophecy (Daughters of the Moon, Book 11) (Hardcover)
I'd rather give this a 3.5, but I decided to round up, since Catty is my favorite character. The book was riveting, it kept me my nose in it for long periods of time and I didn't really want to put it down, but problems with this book are great. It seems to be a turning point in the series and that's what brought down the book so much, since there's a gigantic gap that we don't know what happened in. Maggie's book was interesting, yes, but it didn't show anything that was happening in the 21st century. Jemina is no longer a daughter, Serena is suddenly spending more time with Stanton than ever, and weird things are happening at Tianna's house. None of which are explained or have good reasons for being there. Another kind of annoying thing is Kyle. Where the frig did he come from?! All of sudden, he appears. I like Kyle-he promises to be interesting, but I wish ms. Ewing had introduced him some other time in the series because he just seems so random as it is. Another thing that annoyed me was suddenly Chris who's been important since book four, is suddenly down sized to being a nobody. And the scroll which has been hailed in book after book is minimized to be nothing but a cursed piece of parchment. The book is interesting keeping you in your seat and I like the way Nefandus and Catty's dark heritage are worked together nicely. But some of the points in the book bother me. The book is also obviously setting us up for things to come: Tianna-evil?, Jemina's new powers, and now that Maggie is gone the daughters are lost.

Couldn't put it down!!!,
By
This review is from: The Prophecy (Daughters of the Moon, Book 11) (Hardcover)
This book was awesome. It had been a while since reading about one of the daughters cause the last book about Maggie but it wasn't hard at all getting back into the groove of things. I was so wrapped in this book that I literally could not put it down. Thank goodness it is summer or I wouldn't have finished it. It only took me 3 days to finish and its not a short book. Anyway, This one's about Catty who has to find the scroll. Along the way she meets her father and a cute boy. The only thing that upset me was the way they delt with Jimena's memory lost of being a daugther. But i guess it worked out ok, I can't wait for the 12th book!! I love this seires.

Good!,

This review is from: The Prophecy (Daughters of the Moon, Book 11) (Hardcover)
This is a really good book! What happens is the Scroll has found its way into the museum. And a man has died and the security gaurd and the museum curator are in the hospital on life support with the same flulike ailment. The newspapers are starting to think that the scroll has a curse the same one like King Tut's curse. But of course the curse is real. So Catty goes in the museum to find the office where the scroll will be translated to take it back. But when she gets there she finds out that someone is already in there and Kyle had watched her take the scroll. Kyle had gone to La Brea High until he had been expelled. Now he went to Turney, but Catty still saw him at Planet Bang, Hanging out with all his friends. But then the door starts to open before Catty can explain. She starts to go back in time but Kyle stops her and takes the manuscript puts it back and forces her to hide with him. After the women leaves Catty travels back in time just to get back at Kyle so she can see the surprised look on his face. She travels back in time and of all the places she has to land it has to be Kyle's back! Kyle accuses her of stalking him so she gets mad and leaves before Kyle can say anything else. So she went to Tianna's house to get her help to steal the manuscript. But Tianna is going wacko with her powers because well she says that when people dropped her in cheerleading and she broke her collar bone and the fall messed up her powers. So Catty leaves disapointed but 3 things in this book caught my eye about Tianna and how strange things are getting. On page 40 it says... She didn't like to go to Tianna's house anymore. She felt a odd presence there as if someone were watching her. That gets me questioning. Another thing on page 58 it says Something in the tilt of Tianna's head reminded Catty of the miniature painted on the Scroll. She glanced down at the picture in the newspaper, and a chill swept through her. The resemblance between the goddess opening the jaws of hell and Tianna was uncanny. Catty slid the paper between two books, wondering if the others had noticed it. The bell rang, and they started walking to class. Catty lingered behind. Except for Tianna, each of the Daughters had been born a goddess. Tianna had become one, later in her life. Now, Catty wondered about her resemblance to the goddess in the picture. Could Tianna be something more than what she claimed? Also on page 232 Vanessa asks a question and Tianna answers it when she's not even supposed to be able to see or hear the daughters because she isn't holding on to Catty in Nefundus, she's supposed to just see mists. When Catty questions her she says that she just wandered and bumped into Catty and everything came to focus. But Catty was positive that she had spoke before Catty touched her. I don't know about you but I think that that is pretty strange. But more about this book is that Catty also meets her father Kyle takes her to him (but don't get any ideas that Kyle is bad because he isn't) in Nefundus the world which isn't to be spoken of. |
