4.0 out of 5 stars A good survey of Bible Prophecy, November 29, 1999
This review is from: The Prophecy Knowledge Handbook: All the Prophecies of Scripture Explained in One Volume (Hardcover)
Walvoord goes through every prophecy of the Bible and tells when it was fulfilled or when it will be fulfilled. His emphasis is on the literal interpretation of Scripture. His dispensational emphasis affects some interpretations, particularly in pivotal passages such as Matthew 24-25 and 1 and 2 Thessalonians. But it's still a valuable book.

His approach to study of Scripture is solid. His manner of dealing with prophecy is honest and direct. The book is very easy to follow and quite thorough. If there was only one book in my library on prophecy, this would be it. I have been teaching prophecy since 1989.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have For Serious Prophecy Students!!, August 1, 2009

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Prophecy Knowledge Handbook: All the Prophecies of Scripture Explained in One Volume (Hardcover)
Dr. John F. Walvoord served as the second president of Dallas Theological

Seminary for 34 years as well as also teaching on the faculty for 50 years.

He is considered by many as the prince of prophecy from a premillennial

and dispensational point of interpretation.

In what many consider his magnum opus work in the field of eschatology,

Walvoord writes concisely and clearly as he explains and exegetes all of

the main prophetic passages in Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. He

approaches this undertaking as a confirmed pretribulationalist believer.

A major strength of this mammoth volume is its 16 prophetically related

charts, a topical index for easy reference, and a Scriptural index for

Bible passages. There is also a 120 plus page index for the prophecies,

predictions and fullfillments of every major prophetic passages in both

the Old and New Testaments.

This is the best prophecy reference book from this interpretive viewpoint.

From a post-tribulational position, I would recommend reading Robert Gundry

or George Eldon Ladd. For a work dealing with the partial preterist position,

I would recommend R.C. Sproul's book: "The Last Days of Jesus."

Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that does not need

to be ashamed, righly dividing the Word of Truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
