A complete Source for "end-time" prophecies.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Prophecy Study Bible (Hardcover)
I purchased this Bible edited by John Hagee, as a source of prophetic information, given the amount of study that Bro. Hagee has completed. It has far exceeded my wishes and has now become my favorite Bible. Bro. Hagee has given us the best of his prophetic insight, coupled with the "time proven" King James Version of the Bible. If you are looking to improve your understanding of "end time" prophecy, you can't do better than to rely on this Bible as the basis of your study.

A Very Good Study Bible,
By Mr. Banton (Massachusetts) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Prophecy Study Bible (Hardcover)
I purchased 2 bonded leather copies of this Bible back in the mid-nineties - one to use on a daily basis and one kept in its original box for when the other wears out. Well, it has been 14 or 15 years and I'm still using the first one. It seems my eyesight is wearing out faster than this superb Study Bible.
That being said, I wish it were available in a large print version. This is not my only Study Bible, but it is one of the top 3 or 4 that I own, and because of the thought-provoking articles such as the "Diamonds for Daily Living", and the well-done charts & maps, (as well as the fact that it isn't a large as a coffee table), it is usually the Bible I take when I will be away from home for days or weeks. The New King James Version is clear and relatively straightforward, if not quite as literal a translation as the NASB. As far a NKJV Study Bibles go, thus far this is the only one that comes close to the now out-of-print "Believer's Study Bible" which is a real gem (the best, in my opinion), and a "must-buy" if you can find a copy of it.

third time,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Prophecy Study Bible (Hardcover)
This will be my third time purchasing this. The first wore down and the second was lost. I spent the last four years looking for a decent price and finally found it. I find too many Bibles create their "own atmosphere" but the insight and the style of NKJV in this Bible is easy to read and reference. This is the best I ever had. Glad to find another.

Good reference if you ignore the NKJV's new-age errors,

I liked Hagee's way of presenting answers to common, but tough, scriptural dilemmas. For example: did God create the Devil?
This is so much better than "study bibles" that are more preaching than teaching... Hagee's style is very readable - not theological pablum or intellectual jargon. I felt like he was sitting next to me just chatting. It is really up to the student to "prove all things", so even if you disagree with some of the conclusions, at least you will have some idea HOW you got to your own conclusions. That is why I rated the book a "4". I advise the serious student to look into the defense of the faith (apologetics) and the defense of the Word (KJV-only position). There is good reason to doubt the reliability of the "new improved" versions because of the faulty source documents and the non-christian biases of Westcott and Hort, whose work "heavily influenced" ALL the modern Bibles. As I said, another study. This is a NKJV study bible, unfortunately. If you can catch the doctrinal changes in the translation, and don't let it confuse you, it is a good reference. I would have put "5" stars but for the NKJV. Yes, he supports the pre-trib thing, but this is a *study* bible. I thought it useful to understand why people believe that doctrine, and what the arguments were. Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. So, no doctrinal changes can be from God (holy days, sabbath as sunday, "rapture", universal salvation, etc.) unless that verse applies. No sweat. Enjoy your education, and Hagee's insightful studies. Learn what other folks believe so you can speak intelligently :-)

Good Bible for Hagee fans.,
This review is from: Prophecy Study Bible (Hardcover)
This Bible presents notes, references and charts, that reinforce the dispensational interpretation of the end times. The commentary and diagrams make it easy to cross-reference related passages.
The NKJV translation is excellent. The chapter introductions are objective, briefly acknowledging different opinions and escatological conclusions, not merely Hagee's interpretations, but the articles and notes interspersed throughout are purely dispensational. I bought this Bible because I wanted to understand prophecy and revelation, but found Hagee's commentary more confusing than enlightening. The more I study the scriptures, the more I conclude that Hagee is a very weak theologian. His exegetical approach is to validate his Biblical interpretations against history and current events, rather than through the sound hermeneutic of comparing scripture with scripture.
