I have experienced Morning Star and Steve Thompson's teachings, and this book is one of the most practical, to-the-point books on spiritual gifts that you will find. Great book, great insight. Would recomend it to any Christian who is seeking to expand their intimacy with Christ and ability to minister profoundly to others.

Not for Cessationists!,

This is one of the best books I have read re: personal prophecy. The focus is not on public prophetic messages in church services, but one-on-one individual words of edification, exhortation & comfort.
Guidelines are offered for principles of revelation, interpretation & application. There is much encouragement for the hungry learner & warnings for those who would want to use or abuse this gift for themselves only. Illustrative stories provide real-world examples. Biblical references abound, also. If you don't believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit (see review title), as given in 1 Corinthians 12:1-10, are for today, then you will not likely be blessed by this book.

This book is a wonderful overview of the personal prophetic ministry. It gives great insight into how the Holy Spirit works, and how we can use the gift of prophecy for the edification of individuals.

There have been many books written on this subject but this by far has been the best. Simplistic and scripturally based so that the hard-headest Corinthian can understand personal prophetic ministry.

I use a fine red underliner in most books I intend to keep for future reference. This book is now very red!!.
Loaded with very sound, honest and learned from experience principles. A temperament of ministry with humility throughout the book. Many so-called "Shepherds" could learn from this writing about ministering UP to people instead of ministering DOWN to them which tends to be the unfortunate norm. If you are sincerely seeking God for growing in words of knowledge for the sake of setting the captives free and healing the broken hearted, there are excellent principles presented. The cost of this book is insignificant in comparison to its actual value.

Excellent and very practical!!,
This review is from: You May All Prophesy (Mass Market Paperback)
I think this is an excellent book, very practical yet giving you solid foundations on prophetic ministry in the local church. The emphasis is on equipping believers for an effective prophetic ministries in our days and not on the office of the prophet or more advanced stuff. Full of real-life prophetic examples and at the same time you can appreciate the excellent teaching skill of the author. I like Steve's approach so humble yet very authoritative. You can really feel Steve Thompson is a servant trying to share his extensive experience, his trials and errors as well. Very helpful for beginners and also those already functioning as prophets in their local church. I would suggest this to be your first manual on prophecy and you will not be disappointed: very inspiring and very well balanced on sound bible teaching/practical ministy examples. It remains a basic manual but not so basic to be near to the obvious like other manuals around for beginners. I cannot really compare yet this to the Kris Vallotton "Basic training for prophetic ministry" because I just started reading Vallotton's book, but I feel like "You may all prophesy" is more helpful & gives more insights than the other, which is a very good manual, but perhaps a bit too much "basic" if you already have an idea of what a prophetic ministry is.

This is a very good book. My husband is enjoying more than I am. I think is has to do with the different way of thinking and feeling (male-female brains)
I haven't read the book completely (almost) since my husband takes it to work and reads it during breaks. I am looking forward to gather everything together and get the best of it. So far, I think is a good guidance but not the ultimate rule.

You May All Prophecy,
By Irish Oaks "irish oaks" (Ripley TN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: You May All Prophesy (Mass Market Paperback)
This book gives factual information that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are as relevant today as they were during the book of ACTS. Mr. Thompson is encouraging to his readers to be open to the Holy Spirit with sound Biblical references in recognizing this gift and reverently asking, seeking, and believing that each and every one of us can and will be able to prophesy in His name for His glory.
