I too took a chance on this one.Not hearing any music from these dudes,just going on what I've read and the art work.( those damn futuristic album covers get me every time.)Well upon first listen it is well done power metal ala Helloween,Gamma Ray & even a little Maiden influence.Although I'm not as enthused about these guys as the previous reviewers,as there are much better albums in this musical style,( Stratovarius-Visions,Symphony X-Twilight In Olympus,Gamma Ray-Somewhere Out in Space & Dream Evil-Dragonslayer) I will say that they are a promising new act.The singer sounds like Dirk Thurisch of Angel Dust( another smoking band you should check out)and the guitars,there are two in this band,sound very much like Iron Maiden,with alot of harmonizing.Pretty good,but nothing spectacular.Say like Michael Romeo.Very straight 4ward heavy metal though.Very little keyboards here.I'd say they lean a little more to the traditional metal side like Hammerfall and Dream Evil.With only a touch of power-prog.Any fans of the two bands I just mentioned will love this stuff.Best tracks are Murder,In Prison,The Escape & The Final Battle,an eleven minute opus. I do like it.It's just nothing new.But I guess that's the point with bands like this,they're rooted in traditional metal.Still cranking out true metal and keeping the flame alive.I'll have to check out the cd after this one called The Third Prophecy to see if improvements have been made.Good stuff,but if you love traditional metal and don't own Dream Evil's Dragonslayer yet, get that first.Then check out these dudes.

IT RULES ANY AND EVERYTHING, AMAZING SOLOS, BREATHTAKING SOARING VOCALS, CONSISTENT POWERMETAL STYLE DOUBLE BASS DRUMMING, ARRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IF I HAD 40 MINUTES TO LIVE, ILL DEFINITELY LIVE THEM WITH THIS ALBUM, THE SONG, THE SONG 'THE FINAL BATTLE' WILL MAKE YOU WANT TO REPEAT THE CHANTING AT THE END, AND MAKE YOU WANT TO BLAST IT SO EVERYONE IN THE GODDAMN WORLD HEARS IT AND APPRECIATES HOW GOOD THIS MUSIC IS!!! Nostradameus plays an excelent power/melodic metal they are great musicians, and one of the most well known acts in europe. They are taking over the scene in Europe and Asia, along with other bands like Tierra Santa, Arwen, Edguy, Godiva, Oratory, Zandelle, ShadowKeep, Mago De Oz, Shaman, Dream Evil, Rising Faith, and others ......... and you know... its good to hear pure metal riffs, double bass drum, screams, melodic voices, ballads......... and zero hip hop crossover, techno or anything else but pure metal.... STAY HEAVY!

I do agree with my comrad here Jason with his review for if it wasnt for him i wouldnt have RISKED my purchase of this cd, i had my doubts, of course not knowing, but when i heard it i could definetly understand why he would write a review so intensifying- its nice to know that bands like this are coming on strong, i really enjoy this so much that it has become one of my favourite power/speed metal bands.
If your a big fan of DREAM EVIL wich i really would compare these guys to more than anything and Sonata Arctica For speed, you will have a blast like we did, its just unexplainable, solos with the guitar are a killer, Like rata blanca's Walter Giardino, its got lots of killer solos, drums are deep and fast great guitar riffs great speed, great voice, great choir, hell, TAKE A RISK like i did if this sounds good to you cuz ITS WELL WORTH THE $$$- you most definetly wont be disapointed!!!
