Peophets, Pittfalls & Principles,

This review is from: Prophets, Pitfalls and Principles: God's Prophetic People Today (Prophets (Christian International)) (Paperback)
I have read this book several times and have bought copys of it for several people. I love what Bishop Hamon does with this book. I have the audio version of this book called the 10M's and I must say if you are wanting to move into God's finest this is the book to help you get there. It helps you to discern any weed seeds and character flaws that you need to deal with and to move in a greater understanding and capacity of the Prophetic. This book is a must for the serious student of Prophecy or one ministering in the Prophetic gifts.

For the past twenty years or so God developed a passion in me for the prophetic and so I've gotten to read a lot of books dealing with the revelatory ministry. This is by far one of the better ones, the author bases his most of his examples on scripture and whilst occasionally gives a ministry story. His desire is to teach from God's word foremost. The subjects he deals with, like jealously, are very convicting and relevant.
His writing has a good style, and whilst not overtly technical ( few Greek -Hebrew word discussions etc ) portrays the heart of the subject and has good applications for follow up. It is nice to see a ministry book that deals with the problem areas and dangers of a position , as well as the more flamboyant "public side" of it. Good and necessary balance to the unrealistic trend in other authors writing only their success theology. Wish there were more teaching like this. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that every ministry I believe has room for improvement, and there were some areas I wish the book had explored more , like discernment. I also had a few minor difference of viewpoint on some of the pages. But that said, Brother Hamon has done an excellent job on this book and I whole heartily recommend it. (4 1/2 stars of 5 )

Bill Hamon have made the ministry of the Prophet an intelligable pursuit, for those with a calling. He writes about the root problems that every minister must adress before he can enter into a flourishing and successful ministry. It's biblically relevant, and very striking both in precision and in width. It's an absolute must for the prophetic generation.

Though this book carries the title for "Prophets", I found this book has life lessons that apply to everyone in the Kingdom of God. For people in Ministry it is a must. Today more than ever we need to be reminded of the pitfalls that can happen to ANY of us if we are not careful.

Bill Hamon gives practical wisdom and insight to those beginners and those seasoned in prophetic ministry. His Prophetic Ministry series is excellent reading for anyone curious about prophecy. However, this book should be required reading for anyone in prophetic ministry. It emphasizes the necessity of character development that God requires in order to properly handle the prophetic giftings, and elaborates on the various pitfalls and traps that prophetic people encounter in ministry. A must read!
