I received my copy of "The Proposing Tree" in the mail last night and started reading it this morning. I finished it in no time at all...so eager to see how the story played out. It really touched something inside me, reassuring me that love is out there, even though it may not come to us when we want it to or in the way we expect it to.

A preposterous premise. A writer recounts his life within a manuscript written to a tree. [Yes, he writes TO the tree.] He tells the story of how his female friend would regularly ask him to "practice" proposing marriage to her [To what end? SHE didn't want to marry him.] The story then blatantly rips off Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac. Finally, the writer...

Although it's just a little book, you really get to know and care for the characters Frederick, Carolyn, and Colin.

Thanks to James Twyman for sharing this wonderful story with his fans.

This review is from: The Proposing Tree: A Love Story (Hardcover)
I have read all of James Twyman's books, but this one surpasses the reast. It is simple and profound, yet touches the spirit and heart in a way he never has before. Women especially will treasure this story. You'll pull it to your heart and read it over and over. Take my advice. You're going to love this.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful, Heartfelt Story!, September 15, 2003
This review is from: The Proposing Tree: A Love Story (Hardcover)
Wow, what a magical love story! So glad I found this story - it is a beautiful and romantic love story, one I will treasure forever. Ranks up there with The Notebook by Sparks and Shade of the Maple by Kirk Martin, two of my all-time favorites! You will love this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Prepare to have your soul touched VERY DEEPLY., October 5, 2003

There are are many simple and profound messages contained within this MAGICAL little book.

I believe that the word is just starting to get out about the book and that it is destined for Number 1 status within the very short term. A position that it wholeheartedly deserves as it had me sobbing with joy throughout the last few pages and deeply touched me many, many times throughout the rest of the book.

This is NOT a book for women only and I wish that men would read the book and follow the glorious messages within. It would transform their relationships.

The Proposing Tree" by James F. Twyman, wow what a book it only had 104 pages so it was a fast read, I am trying to find the right words for how much I enjoy this book. I could say that James's writing is something like Nicholas Sparks books. Reading The Proposing
Tree about soul mates and good friends that you only find in a life time. This book is so heart warming, the author James words are beautifuly wriiten story and has you thinking about the people in this book :) A enjoyable read :)

Happy Reading Lisa

SHE didn't want to marry him.] The story then blatantly rips off Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac. Finally, the writer leaves the manuscript in the braches of the tree [Another "why?"] where someone finds and reads it. And to further the insult of such a terrible story, the retail price is $16.95 for a 100 page, ~ 8 ½ x 5" book that takes less than two hours to read. If you are a serious reader, don't waste your time (even though it's short read) or your money.

This book is wonderful. I've been reading it slowly and savoring it because it makes me feel so good, like I'm being guided and taken care of by something way bigger than myself.

3.0 out of 5 stars ridiculous.......yet tiny glimpses of perfection, November 4, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Proposing Tree: A Love Story (Hardcover)
The reviews of this book encouraged me to read it. I have to say I was disappointed. First and foremost, the book is overpriced, so don't purchase it unless you can find a used version. Second, I truly found it to be a waste of time to read about two people who truly craved each other...who were supposedly soulmates...but played games and wasted each others' time. Life is too short. Why did these characters continue to torture each other and deny the obvious until later in life. Ridiculous.
However, the proposals that the character ''sang'' under the branches of this ''magical'' tree were quite impressive. Beautifully written proposals that would woo any woman.
