• 1080p Full HD Display: With full HD, there is no need to scale down a 1080 signal. With twice the pixel resolution of 720p HD models, full HD creates the pinnacle in picture quality.
• SuperAction LCD Panel has a 6ms response speed necessary for cleaner high-action home theater images. A wide viewing angle ensures that you'll have the best seat in the house.
• Dynamic Backlight Control utilizes advanced image processing to monitor the brightness of each video frame, and adjust the backlight intensity accordingly. This precision creates seamless transitions with deep blacks for increased detail and depth analysis.
• Built-in ATSC/NTSC/QAM digital tuning allows for tuning of standard cable channels as well as off-air digital broadcasts, in addition to digital "cable-in-the-clear" broadcasts.
• Cinema Mode 24 fps (3:2 Pull-down): This HDTV performs 3:2 pull-down detection and reversal too -- a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. To adapt 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video, frames in the original movie must be duplicated; 3:2 pull-down digitally corrects this duplication by removing the redundant information to display a frame-accurate picture.
• Color Temperature Control: Most Proscan televisions provide three user-selectable Color Temperature settings that affect the sets overall white balance. The "Warm" setting reduces the color temperature to an NTSC standard 6500 degrees Kelvin and delivers a redder image that is ideal for display in a dimly lit room. "Standard" and "Cool" provide a progressively bluer image for the best picture as room light levels are increased. Also you can adjust it by yourself.
• Screen Mode: Sets with Screen Mode modes are ideal for displaying HDTV signals as well as enhanced for widescreen television DVDs.
  • Normal : The original 4:3 aspect ratio (1.33:1 signal) is preserved, so black bars are added to the left and right of the image. Standard TV broadcasts are displayed with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
  • Full : When watching a standard broadcast or full-frame movie in this mode, the display image is stretched proportionately to fill the TV screen. When watching a wide screen (1.78:1 signal) program or movie, the display image fills the TV.
  • Zoom : Stretched the 4:3 aspect ratio image horizontally and vertically to fill the screen at 1.78:1.
  • Panorama: Stretches the 4:3 aspect ratio image horizontally and vertically to fill the screen at 2.35:1
  • Auto : Software will select proper aspect ratio by signal automatically
• DPMS: This is a good function for computer monitor, When DPMS is on, the computer will control the screen on or off. For example, if the computer is in sleep mode, the screen will be switched off. If the computer is activated, the screen also is activated.
• Channel Browser allows you to easily scan through the last 32 channels you have viewed, with screen images for the last five channels displayed, by channel, by favorites, and by input, at the touch of a button.
• Channel Labeling allows you to put station call letters on the screen along with the station numbers, so you always know what channel you're watching.

This TV is quite impressive, especially for the money. There are plenty of inputs, many of which are conveniently located on the side of the panel. As far as the picture goes, the color is fantastic, and the contrast is pretty good as well. Where this TV falls short is the uneven back-lighting. In a low light setting watching a dark scene, you can see portions of the screen are brighter than others, which can be annoying at best and distracting at worst. Aside from that, I have no complaints with the television. Were money no object, I'm sure the Proscan would rate lower, however the value you get out of this TV for the price is hard to match. It is a very fine budget LCD HDTV.

I bought this for my workout room and for the money it is excellent. It was easy to set up and the picture quality is very good. I have a $3500 1080p TV in my main room and the picture quality is only somewhat better. For the price this thing fully delivers. We looked locally at TV's and couldn't even get a 720p for this price.

If you are going to nit pick or expect a $1000+ TV, then get your head screwed on right, it is not a high end TV but it is definitely not crap and the thing I really like about it is I have it up a little higher so I can see it to work out with but I can even see the picture and colors true when I'm on the floor stretching.

+ Amazon prime $3.99 overnight shipping to my door. The local store couldn't beat that if they tried.

Bought this TV when it was on sale at costco for $399. Excellent picture quality, adequate inputs (3x hdmi, 2x component, 1x composite/s-video), and a nice sound system. It is also very slim in depth compared to other non-ultraslim flat screens.

Why I wouldn't give this tv 4-stars:

No USB input, second component input, or L/R audio output (you will have to buy a Y-audio cable for audio output).

When there is no sound on an input the speakers make this small popping noise. I don't know why that is. To accommodate the noise, I put the tv on mute and the popping stops.

Another shortcoming is the remote control range. It does not work if it is more than a 30-degree angle from the receiver or not at the same vertical level.

Overall, it is a great tv for a great price.
