I'm a beginner and I didn't want to spend much so these fit the bill. The clubs are very nice for the price and although it's not listed in the description, the driver and woods come with covers. I've done a lot of reading and research and these are by far the best in that price range. Where can you get a full set of beginner clubs for $149.00 with free shipping?

They are heavy, hit very well and the bag is very nice.

Just be wary about where you purchase them. The place I purchased them from charges a 25% restocking fee if you return them. (Personally I find that disgusting)

I'm 29 and recently took up golf after playing with a few friends. A buddy gave me a 30 year old set that I used for a few weeks to make sure I wanted to invest money in a new set. This was the best reviewed set for under $200 I could find. I've played with the clubs for the last 5 days in a row and love them. The irons are great, along with the putter and the bag. It even comes with a rain cover and covers for the drivers and hybrids. The driver however is not the best. I've been using my mother in-laws (TaylorMade) and planning on buying a new one soon. Even before buying this set though I was looking at getting a nice driver as I wanted to go test out a bunch and see which one fit me the best. Nothing is worst than your second shot being off in the woods somewhere, or just past the ladies tee! So to me it's worth the extra $100-200. Anyways, if your looking to get a first set of clubs I would definitely recommend this set of clubs.

These are a beautiful set of clubs and are of great quality. I purchased them as a gift for my husband and he couldn't believe the price I paid at the "Golf Outlets of America" online-store on Amazon compared to other places. You just can't beat a great deal!

What can I say? I got these clubs after looking online for many days; they live up to the rating. I prefer steel shafts due to my power generation, and find graphite to "whippy" for me; and since I'm not a pro, I don't worry about brand name. If you want a great complete set for a great price with a nice bag, this is for you. The hybrids are unreal. It was the first I have ever played a Hybrid and I have fallen in love. The weight is incredibly light, you could carry these clubs and bag all day. The clubs arrived exactly the day they were supoosed to, and in perfect condition. I smoking these hybrids and 3 wood constantly 200-220 straight down the pipe. The loft generated by these hybrids will make you never want to play a 3 or 4 iron again, they are almost like hitting a 7 wood 220+ yards! The putter is so-so, and I wish it had a sand wedge, but the weight and feel of the irons is exactly what I was looking for. The driver I still slice, but I've always sliced those graphite shaft drivers, so that isn't indicative of the club :) Anyhow, for the money, I don't think you can beat it. I'm 6'2 and play with the normal sized set, just because that is all I have ever played with.

My clubs arrived today!

So far I'm quite happy. Everything is there and as was advertised. The clubs and bag are both nice looking.

There were only two small blemishes. One is on the 4 hybrid. It is a small dent or imperfection in the club face. It is just over 1/8" long, 1/16" wide, and really shallow. It's also on the extreme toe of the club face. It looks like the face got banged against some harder metal. Anyway, it's noticeable but I don't think it's a big deal. I can't imagine it really effecting my shots, particularly because of where it is on the face. If these were more expensive or were a fancy brand I might want to return it but for just a beginners clubs it's within my margin of error quality wise.

The other imperfection is a slight tear in the fabric of the bag on the rim at the top. It's about 3/4" long and 1/4" wide. It's not a big deal to me as it doesn't effect using the bag at all. It's not optimal but again, given the fact that they were cheap, made in China clubs this really doesn't seem worth the trouble of returning them or anything like that.

I took the pitching wedge out to the large yard outside our building and hit a ball around. It performed just as expected. Of course, given my skill that's not saying much :) On the other hand, given one review that said a club fell apart on first use I think this is a fine result. I will, of course, report if I have any serious problems with the clubs after using them.

Hubby played golf in college but now after a long absence, he decided to hit the course once again. Problem was, I know how expensive golf can be. I balked at pricey sets...not to mention that unless you inherit a truly quality set, nothing looks more ridiculous than a total newbie rushing out to buy a $4000 set only to hack up the green. The clubs aren't going to magically fix a poor game. So we compromised on this set and he simply couldn't be more pleased. (There was an issue with our order missing an item but Amazon fixed the problem nearly immediately.) From a purely aesthetic view, the clubs and the bag look lovely and surprisingly high quality. Hubby says the clubs are all straight hitting; he's particularly impressed with the hybrid 3 iron. The size works nicely with his 6 foot frame. All in all, for a novice set, these do the trick. So much so that I've become a golf widow 2X a week.

Researched a lot...Number of choices for beginners even in the budget price...Top Flite, Wilson - being the recommended and most famous brands...
I have rented Top Filte and didn't like the feel of it...The ones I liked in Wilson were expensive and beyond my budget...
Though Prosimmon didn't rank at the top in the list - #3/#4 in some lists...I decided to take a gamble...Worth every penny if you don't want to spend big on your beginner set...Everything is built with good quality - woods, irons, hybrids, bag...Plus looks much better than Top-Flite and some of the low-end Wilson models...Would definitely recommend it for a budding golfer who has a tight string budget...

I just played my first full round of golf last week thanks to these clubs. I have little to no golf experience, skill, etc. I was looking for a cheap set of clubs so I could get through a game without embarrassing myself too much. Needless to say, my performance was still somewhat embarrassing, hitting 7 or 8 on a course at best. The golf clubs weren't to blame though. They held up solidly and I was able to get quite a few decent shots off sporadically.

My favorite things about this set of clubs is the variety of clubs included. Although the description incorrectly states there is a Sand Wedge, I found the pitching wedge was more than adequate for me to get out of the handful of sandtraps I encountered. The 3 and 4 hybrids were great. I had never touched a hybrid club before, but they really let me connect with the ball on the fairway. I'm not sure if you are supposed to avoid using them on the rough, but they helped me out there too. I think I may have scratched one up a little cosmetically though. That would be my only complaint. The metal on these is a little cheap.

Overall, I was very happy with my purchase. The grips on all the clubs are comfortable even after a few hours and I didn't slip once. The driver was too much club for me, so I can't really comment. The 3 wood was my driver and I loved it. The irons were also a little tough for me, but they had a nice weight to them. I noticed that there was a similar set under the name confidence ESP. I think those might be worth saving some cash, since they are probably similar. They big difference I could tell was that the putter in this set was a hammer style. The putter has a great weight to it and although you can tell it's not exactly high quality, it feels solid and accurate.

I was very pleased with the clubs, They were for my son and he likes them. They seem to be well made with good balance and feel. The only problem I had was with the delivery by Fed-Ex. The driver was unfamiliar with our area and delivered the clubs at another house and it took Fed-Ex a while to track them down -- so I didn't get the clubs as quickly as I should have.

have yet to have the chance to get these on the course but from what i've seen at the driving range these are a great set for the price. had my golf buddy try them and he didn't want to give them back.
