For British folk-balladeer, James William Hindle, the second time’s the charm. On Prospect Park, his second full-length album, there are the same wistful, delicately-strummed melodies strewn with hope and acoustic longing that garnered critical praise for his self-titled debut album. However on Prospect Park, there’s also the definite sound of a maturity found. After over a year of touring the US with bands like The Essex Green and The Ladybug Transistor and appearing on a compilation with Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, and Spoon, among others, James’ musical persona has just begun to spread its wings. For those keen-eared listeners who detect a faint Elephant-6-esque thread running through the songs on Prospect Park, James is ably backed up on these proceedings by members of The Essex Green, The Ladybug Transistor, Sunshine Fix, and Aden.
