Book Description

August 14, 2008
This pioneering guide to the principles of mind power shows how to use the mysterious power within you to attain a life of abundance and purpose.

This book could be called “Twelve Steps to Wealth.” It is one of the first works to present a unified, detailed blueprint to abundance through the philosophy of mental power.

Charles Fillmore is one of the legendary figures of the New Thought movement, bringing the philosophy to hundreds of thousands of everyday men and women through his nationwide Unity ministry and its popular community, Unity Village, in Missouri. Today, thousands of families continue to participate in Unity programs and recognize Fillmore as a beloved mentor.

Published in 1936, Prosperity is one of Fillmore’s most famous works and a book that plainly brings the principles of mental science down to the working level, so that any person —of whatever educational background or walk of life—can embark on a journey that will leave them richer, more creative, and more complete.

Here is a twelve-step class from a venerated teacher on how you—right here, right now—can attain your true role as a conduit of the Divine Mind, and how that reality can bring abundance to you and those you love.

About the Author

Born in 1854, on an Indian reservation near St. Cloud, Minnesota, Charles Fillmore spent much of his early life unsuccessfully speculating on real estate and traveling the country seeking a cure for his wife Myrtle’s tuberculosis before cofounding the New Thought–based Unity movement with her. Their popular magazine, Unity, was first published in 1891. The Unity movement eventually oversaw multiple magazines and ran the town Unity Village in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Fillmore died in 1948.

5.0 out of 5 stars For those with open and discerning minds, October 13, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Charles Fillmore and the Unity movement which he co-founded has always urged individual thinking and stayed away from dogmatic beliefs, and as such, don't fit the definition or understanding of "cult". However, his thinking is definitely non-traditional, and I don't recommend his books to fundamentalist, Biblical literalists.

That said, this is definitely a book to read. It's not about material prosperity as such, but about over all prosperity in all areas of life. So if your primary aim to get filthy rich, this isn't for you. But if you are seeking a more fulfilling life, a greater understanding and closeness to the Great Power in our universe, and a mind-expanding, soul-enriching reading experience, I recommend this to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Single greatest book on Prosperity, April 18, 2004
By
I have read many books on Prosperity. This book pulled it together for me. I am on my 4th time reading it. Prosperity is about quality of life. Since reading this, my income and equity has exceeded in amounts to large to say. My sense of peace and purpose is even larger than that. The book was written so long ago that sometime the language and word usage can be tricky. At the end of each chapter are questions intended to help grasp the concepts. I found this to be helpful. This is a must read.

Charles Fillmore knew what he was talking about. I use the prinicples outlined in this book and have gone from being unemployed and unable to pay the utility bill to self-emplolyed with very little debt. This book explains what money is, how it works, and how I can work with it. I AM PROSPEROUS!
