I started my first vegetable garden 35 years ago, following the steps and advice in this book. It was 30 x 40 feet, had 23 varieties of tomatoes, 5 varieties of eggplant, as well as exotic Asian items, and everything else I could imagine wanting. I have since simplified. BUT this book continues to be my first go-to reference for planting technique, soil care, plant requirements, companion planting ideas, crop rotation guidelines, and lovely and informative illustrations. I am sorry that this book never reached a wider audience, it should have....I just bought, at long last, my second copy because the first is falling apart and needs to retire. Thank you Mr. Jankowiak, wherever you are.
