My girlfriend and I bought this board after Cook's Illustrated gave it the highest rating (and we needed a replacement for our Boos Board that had grown mold and other evil... don't leave maple boards on tea towels next to a sink). As a wooden cutting board, it's a quite nice product - but for $90, the fit and finish work could be better; we received it from the seller (shipped by Amazon) with a patch of peeling teak (about 1"x0.5") on the cutting surface, and one of the four feet is missing about a quarter of itself. We've had the board for a couple months now, and it's nice and durable (Cook's Illustrated is right about that, and it doesn't appear thirsty the way that maple boards do), but I'm kind of disappointed in the finish work for an expensive product.

I received my cutting board today and it is a beautiful piece of FSC-certified organically grown wood! It is a massive size, but if you have an island in your kitchen or a lot of counter space, it can be left there in beautiful display. I did find that it is unbalanced as other reviewers have noted, but I put a kitchen towel underneath it, and problem solved, no more rocking back and forth.

Over a year later, still really love this cutting board. I am so glad that I bought this size. Pretty easy to maintain with usp mineral oil, considering that I never knew you had to do that with cutting boards. You can find usp mineral oil at any grocery or drugstore, and it is worth the couple dollars to keep that nice protective coat on there.

The board is very nice, my only complaint is it wobbles and I have to put something under one leg to level it. It's on a ceramic tile counter which is level, I don't know why it wobbles.

The board arrived with 3 broken feet.
I returned it.
The replacement arrived with 3 broken feet. I refused delivery.
The third cutting board arrived-broken feet and a big dent and a foot mark where somebody stood on it.
I gave up.

Was someone asleep? I received this today. Wow. Looks beautiful; and recommended by Cooks Illustrated. Put it on flat counter. I can't believe it --- it's already warped! At $90, someone at this company should check what they ship out -- so should Cooks Illustrated check their ratings. This isn't the first time that I had to send back something recommended by Cooks Illustrated. My take now is to go by Amazon average ratings and reviews, not by Cooks Illustrated recommendations. Oh -- I checked my counter with a level. It's the Proteak that is warped - not my perfectly straight level counter. These guys walk around with a"green" halo on their heads. But, they should spend more time and effort on quality control. Save your money and time and order a plastic board from OXO.

The board provides ample work space for multiple jobs. It helps knife edges to remain sharp longer. The teak should hold up to water well and the edge grain should keep it from absorbing water. Because it is real wood, it is heavier than other materials, but the handles at both ends make it relatively easy to handle. It is easy to clean with a soapy wash cloth and hot water.
