I ordered this for a friend of mine for her birthday/house warming gift. The cutting board itself is beautiful and I truly believe the cutting board is well constructed and would last a long time but Amazon's packaging for shipping is beyond inadequate! It was shipped to her twice broken. Amazon's shipping department literally threw it into a box 3x the size of the cutting board with two pieces of crumpled up packing paper. The board wasn't in the manufacturers box or any other type of protection. It was not bubble wrapped or even plastic shrink wrapped. It was not marked fragile or anything so it bounced around in this ginormous box during shipping until it broke. I'm sure Proteak would not approve if they knew their product was treated this way. I will say Amazon has been great in the return end of it but really, someone in their shipping department needs to wake up, twice! I am still going to order this for my friend but will be ordering it directly from Proteak.

I was looking for a substantial cutting board for my kitchen, but I wanted it to look nice also, since it is in the part of kitchen that is seen from multiple rooms. The teak grain is beautiful and with a little oil, it is even nicer. Does not show cut marks, like others I have tried. Highly recommend it. The smaller insert is great for moving cut food to your pan for cooking, as the main cutting board is heavy.
