5.0 out of 5 stars A very big bag., July 7, 2006

(REAL NAME)
This trumpet bag holds everything you could ever use for/with a trumpet. It is very useful for carrying my trumpet supplies and a few extra things I may need for band practice. While it is very useful and spacious, it may be a little too big. It will not fit into my locker for my trumpet at school, and is really more like a suitcase than a trumpet case. I have gotten teased by my friends who say I look like I'm going on a 10 day trip when I carry it around. It bangs around on doors when I walk through my house with it and knocks things over if I'm not careful, but it is a triple trumpet bag, so it's supposed to be large. But I carry around useful things that would never fit in a normal trumpet case, so I love it. This bag is extremely sturdy and reliable. It's really very useful and I recommend it for any dedicated trumpet player with more than one trumpet. It is a good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic gig bag, February 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Far superior to its Reunion Blues counterpart. This thing gives me peace of mind. Because the middle section is securely velcro-ed to the bag, the instruments that you put on either side are in no danger of shifting and bumping into anything.
The fit is snug. I use it for one Bb and one flugelhorn.

The bag itself has a lot of room for storage in the outer pockets for miscellaneous items like tuners, oil, rags, cloths, mouthpiece pouches, writing utensils, yadda yadda. I especially love the way that the outer pocket designed for music will fit long folders and ZIP up to keep anything from falling out. Tons of room for books, folders and music.

The bag comes with a removable mute bag. This is a great mute bag, but it makes the case a LOT bigger. If you need the mutes, you need the mutes, but I'd recommend avoiding it if you can; store mutes in the second large trumpet section, for example, when you only need one horn. For how heavy this thing can get with the equipment it can hold, the bag is pretty well balanced when carried by the shoulder strap. The weight is very manageable.
The bag is designed exactly as it is named: a bag to gig with. It's for those of us with a lot of stuff to use at gigs when we only want to haul one case for it all, even if the case is a bit larger than a single-trumpet case. If you only have one trumpet, you'll love the space for your folders, items and mutes, and you may need more than one trumpet in the future at an engagement. I'd say that it's a good buy even for the single-trumpet user, especially for $100, because it holds everything and isn't terribly large if you take off the mute bag.

If you don't need a place for your folders, mutes and what have you, then I'd say get something else. There are lighter, smaller options. You probably won't get much cheaper than $100 for good protection, though, so don't think you're saving a ton.

For those who don't know: it's not realistic to put anything other than a picc or Eb into the middle section for a total of three trumpets. Most "triple gig bags" won't really hold three trumpets. "Triple cases" usually do and come on wheels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of room, January 20, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After reading some comments about insufficient room in this bag, I thought I would add my own observation. I use the bag to carry a B flat, a flugelhorn, and a piccolo with no difficulty at all. If you are hoping to carry, for example, a B flat, a C, and a flugelhorn, it might not work as well. A three mouthpiece pouch was included. Side and end pockets provide ample space for mouthpieces, spare lead pipe, valve oil, cleaning cloths, music and notes and other miscellaneous items. The mute bag is spacious and easily attaches and detaches. I use it for three mutes, plunger, and trumpet stand, with room to spare. The bag appears to be made of durable material, and the shoulder strap seems substantial. The bag is well padded. When loaded, the bag is bulky, but far less bulky than carrying three separate cases. I highly recommend this bag.
