Gets the job done,
By
This review is from: Protect-a-Bub Single Compact Sunshade, Black (Baby Product)
I just got this recently. It does what I needed it to do which is always block the sun from my daughter's eyes. She hates the sun in her eyes so I was always having to walk backwards if the sun was facing towards her. It was easy to attach (attaches w/4 string ties). I use it w/ a MacLaren Quest.
It is not super aesthetically pleasing. My husband says it looks like one of those "granny" hats. But the color matches fine w/my stroller. The other downsides I see are: 1) I am going to have to unattach it if I want to fold up the stroller. Luckily I don't have to do this too often since this stroller lives in our house. 2) It is harder to get baby in and out of the stroller w/this canopy on b/c it doesn't fold back and so I have to bend very low to pull her out and she hits her head on the canopy sometimes, but it is soft so it doesn't hurt. This could be due to the fact that I did not install it as far back as it could go since I did not want to cover up the "window" that is in the stroller canopy so that I can still see my baby. One last word - this size is "compact" but it is a pretty decent size. I can't imagine how I would have fit the larger size one on my stroller. It probably depends on the size of your stroller. But all in all I am satisfied with my purchase since it is does what I needed.

We use this sunshade on our Phil and Teds Sport model - takes a minute to get it set up but works excellent. Especially for loong periods out in the sun - covers your child completely. The canopy on the Phil and Teds is not great so anytime were going to be in the sun for a period of time I put it on. I also purchased the Protect A Bub backseat/tandem cover - again takes a min to set up but great su protection!

Great extension to manufacturer's sunshade,

This definitely is a great extension to the practically useless sunshade that comes with any umbrella stroller. We have the MaClaren Quest Sport and this is a perfect match. It provides plenty of shade for our baby. It is key to understand that if your stroller does not already have a sunshade, this product is not for you simply because it must sit on top of an existing sunshade in order to stay up. My only complaints are (1) that it doesn't really adjust although you can kind of pull it up like a sleeve on a shirt if you wanted to see your baby more and (2) you have to tie it onto the stroller whenever you want to use it. Velcro would've been a better solution, IMO. Overall, it's a great product and does exactly as it describes... i.e. provides more shade for your baby.

I bought the Protect-a-Bub shade for my newly purchased jogging stroller. It is fantastic! The biggest issue I have with most strollers is the lack of shade provided to the child.
This shades my daughter about 80% when I put it on. It is easy to use and folds out of the way it its own little pouch when not in use. It has ties to attach it to the stroller, which are handy and allow me to customize the way it fits on the stroller. There are a few drawbacks, like it does make folding the stroller difficult if you are out and about. Since my jogging stroller is so big, I do not end up folding it up much when I am out. My daughter is a toddler, so she can crawl in and out fairly easily with this on, but it could be troublesome if the child was small. Additionally, it is a little funny looking (looks like the stroller is wearing an old fashioned ladies hat). But the shade it gives her more then makes up for it! She never gets burned in the stroller. Additionally, we live close to multiple theme parks. This makes hot sunny days bearable for her in her stroller. She can sit or nap with ease and shaded from the hot sun. When the shade is not needed for the day, I untie it and pop it back into its little carry bag. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for additional shade on their stroller.

Miss my stroller umbrella for coverage,
This review is from: Protect-a-Bub Compact Sunshade (Baby Product)
Before going on a cruise, I had bought my son a Maclaren umbrella for his stroller. Because he can't help but play with it, he ended up breaking it. I thought I'd give this a try since I wouldn't have to adjust it and he wouldn't be able to move it. Well, I was disappointed. It fits great on my Triumph but it's very floppy. The kid can't see anything in front of him. I thought it'd stay arched like in the picture but it doesn't. Moreover, his legs are fully exposed. The shade gives him no shade at all. It does provide more than the original canopy coming with the stroller but nothing compares to the real umbrella. I will try to re-fit it again but I will probably order another Maclaren umbrella anyway. All in all, not recommended for the Triumph.

I got this for my Maclaren Quest stroller. It fits really good and has perfect coverage. It's pretty stable and doesn't get bent much when it's windy. The fabric is very light and mesh sides allow excellent air circulation. I had a cheaper expandable canopy before and returned it because the fabric was some cheap nylon and it was very flimsy. This shade is perfect, I definitely recommend it for Maclaren umbrella strollers.

Great sun shade!,
This review is from: Protect-a-Bub Compact Sunshade (Baby Product)
The sun shade on my Phil and Ted's stroller is for decoration at best, so my son always has to wear a hat and loads of sun screen when in his stoller. Now that it is summer and very hot, he refuses to wear his hat, because it makes him too hot...so I was happy to find this online. There is another shade like this, which was about $10 cheaper, but I decided to go with the more expensive one, because people complained that the cheaper one couldn't handle any breeze. I can say that this one is very sturdy and no floppy at all. I am very happy with this purchase...so much so that I only just received this in the mail 2 days ago, and had to write a review about it today...

Works just OK on MacLaren,

I had high hopes for protect-a-bub for my MacLaren after reading the Amazon reviews, but we don't really use it unless we absolutely have to because it is cumbersome and tends to slide out of place and down the front of the stroller. I will be walking and look down and realize that the entire shade has slid over the front of the stoller and my son is poking at it. I do tie it on very securely, in case you are wondering, it just isn't a great fit. It does the job if you live in a really sunny climate, but frankly I just wish I'd done a better job of stroller shopping and looking for one that had and extended shade.

I received this item a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I have an Eddie Bauer Travel System and the awning on it is very small and cannot bend forward, so it doesn't cover much. I love taking my baby on walks, but the sun would always be in her face. The compact sunshade covers so much more and also provides protection on the side. I can leave it on the stroller after every use, as it just folds up inside the stroller. It is definitely worth purchasing.

Exactly what I was looking for and it fits perfectly on the Maclaren Quest. It takes a few minutes to attach onto the stroller since you have to tie it down in 4 places. Overall, great product and very happy with my purchase.
