5.0 out of 5 stars RARE PLOT!!!, January 2, 2008
This review is from: Protecting His Own : Morgan's Mercenaries, Ultimate Rescue (Silhouette Intimate Moments No. 1185) (Paperback)
one of my favorite authors is lindsay mckenna because she writes with hot sensuality, tenderness and sweetness still, something hardly any writer remembers it seems.unique non-typical characters, unusual plot lines and first class writing all together in ms mckenna's novels.she is an auto buy for me.this series is one of her best and rare that it deals with life threatening natural disasters instead of the stale bickering between hero/heroine.she includes the emergency services and the protocal if any.it takes a lot of research and hard work to produce a novel on this subject which might be why its hardly ever done anymore.another great book but not well known like this is 'a small town in texas' by lass small, which deals with a flood.ms mckenna and d palmer are in my top 10 writers of all time which is something since i've been reading for 50 years!

4.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating inaccuracies, November 24, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Protecting His Own : Morgan's Mercenaries, Ultimate Rescue (Silhouette Intimate Moments No. 1185) (Paperback)
If you're in the military prepare to be frustrated. Women in the Navy haven't been referred to as WAVES in over 20 years. At no time were female hospital corpman referred to as "Corpwaves". Ms. McKennas has the women officers wearing enlisted uniforms instead of khakis. These are just a few things that are irritating - there are quite a few more. If you can get past the inaccuracies the plot is quite good. Harlequin/Silhouette should hire a former military person to proof read their books that deal with military plots.
