We as individuals can take steps and use strategies to keep ourselves, our loved ones, and our possessions safe from harm. Though the news today is filled with reports of ever more shocking crimes and frightening statistics, we need not be paralyzed by fear. This invaluable book gives you the privileged wisdom only a seasoned police officer possesses. Drawing on his twenty-five years of experience on the Indianapolis police force, Captain Snow provides us with the inside scoop on a wide variety of crimes. As Captain Snow shows, there is a great deal that we can do to protect ourselves from becoming victims of crime in the first place. Based on interviews with detectives across the country and on surveys and interviews with the criminals themselves, he explains the signs we unwittingly give off that make ourselves, our possessions, and our homes appealing targets to criminals. Captain Snow addresses the most essential questions for our security. As Captain Snow stresses, a bit of caution can go a long way - and knowing when and what to be on the lookout for can make the difference between safety and becoming another crime statistic.
