With a 2 Year Protection Plan for Kindle Paperwhite 3G, you will receive protection against accidental damage such as drops or spills for up to two years. In the 2nd year, your coverage extends to protect against failures that occur during normal operation. This helps avoid the inconvenience and costs associated with a broken device. The plan stays with the device even if it is gifted or sold to another party.

Plan Features

• Coverage Against Accidents
  Accidental Damage covers any accidents that happen during normal use of the product. While most service plans cover basic mechanical malfunction only, this plan covers your Kindle Paperwhite for accidental mishaps such as drops, liquid spills, cracked screens and other human errors for up to 2 years. Please refer to the actual plan terms and conditions for a complete description of the coverages.
• Express Replacement
  Should your Kindle Paperwhite need to be replaced, we will ship a replacement unit to you along with a prepaid shipping label for you to send the defective unit back to us. No shipping fees apply.
• Battery Replacement
  One-time claim for battery malfunction in the second year of coverage.
• Customer Service Support
  Customer service support is available from 6 am to 10 pm (PST) - call [phone].
• Returns & Refunds
  Customers may cancel their contract at any time for any reason if they have not filed a claim. If the contract is cancelled within 90 days of the date purchased and does not have a claim the customer will receive a refund of the full purchase price of the contract. If the contract is cancelled thereafter and there are no claims, the customer will be refunded the remaining days of coverage on a monthly prorated basis.
• No Deductibles or Shipping Fees

3 stars only because of the circumstances. The kindle I ordered was a pre-order. I could get this 2 year protection plan at the time of order only. However, the pre-ordered Kindle was not due to get to me until about 6 weeks later. I still do not have the kindle but I have this protection plan & it is in effect.......before I even have the product. The timing on sending this & starting it should be sequenced with the receipt of the item & not from the purchase date. Having a friend who has used this plan twice with her kindle, I think it will be a good plan to have but I feel cheated that I will have about 6 weeks of it gone before I even get the kindle.

This protection plan includes the 12 month manufactures warrantee. So with the exception of accidental damage, which could be covered by other policies one may have, the plan is for one year only. I have found Amazon extremely helpful and fast in sorting out any problem I had in the past.

After 12 months, with the ever changing technology, I am sure that a New Kindle will be available.
