Book Description

April 1, 2001

Ian Michaels was one of the best investigators at the Colby Agency--also one of the most gorgeous. Nicole Reed knew...all too well. Together they had worked to protect a federal witness. In close quarters, desire erupted and distracted and caused the death of their client. Or so Ian thought. But it was Nicole who had been sent to see that Ian--the best protector money could buy--failed and that the witness was secreted into hiding. Losing her heart to Ian wasn't part of the assignment.

Now Nicole needs the help of the man she had once betrayed in order to stay alive. Only this time, would that all-consuming passion cause Nicole and Ian's demise?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read!, April 17, 2003
This review is from: Protective Custody (The Colby Agency: A Walk Down the Aisle, Book 3) (Harlequin Intrigue Series #610) (Mass Market Paperback)
Nicole Reed and Ian Michaels had worked together to protect a federal witness. He was chosen from the Colby Agency to help her because he was the best. The two were attracted to each other. While distracted, the witness was killed. Or so Ian thought. Nicole's real mission was to make sure Ian failed his and believed, along with the rest of the world, that the witness was dead. Instead, the witness was secreted into hiding. Only she knew the location.

After three years Nicole had to ask the person she had betrayed for help. Someone had already killed her director and her partner. She was next on the killer's list. Several attempts had already been made on her life.

... Great read! This one kept me guessing all the way through. Some hot love scenes, so consider yourself warned in advance. The story hooked me on the first page and never let me go. In fact, I did not get up from the sofa even once until the story was finished. Yes, it is that good! I hope to see more of the Colby Agency!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot! Hot!! Hot!!! This book positively sizzles!, April 28, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Protective Custody (The Colby Agency: A Walk Down the Aisle, Book 3) (Harlequin Intrigue Series #610) (Mass Market Paperback)
Those of you looking for a steamy romance, edge of your seat action and--REFRESHINGLY--an *equally* matched hero and heroine should definitely pick up this book. Nicole Reed is definitely not your average heroine. She's strong and capable, with sharp wit and an even sharper tongue. She was the perfect foil for to-die-for hero Ian Michaels. I'm sooo glad that Ms. Webb recognized that a typical damsel-in-distress heroine was not what this cool, unflappable and calmly lethal hero needed. To give a hero of this caliber any less in a heroine would have been an injustice. These super characters combined with Ms. Webb's trademark hand with a suspenseful plot and sexual tension made this my favorite of the Colby series thus far. This one is on my keeper shelf.
