I purchased this book because it is the first of a series, The Precinct: Brotherhood of the Badge, involving four brothers, all in law enforcement in Kansas City, after reading the synopsis for Armed And Devastating (Harlequin Intrigue Series), Book Two of this series. This book sets up the series but does not neglect to tell the story of Sawyer and Melissa. Those who like books that involve small children will like this installment as well as those who like romance and suspense. There is a bit of suspense and adventure surrounding this couple involving and abusive ex, as will as a larger suspense involving the entire family surrounding the father's death. The Kincaid brothers alone make it worth the read as everyone is sure to recognize someone in their own family or they know in each of them while developing one or two favorites. The characters, story plot, as well as the series are well thought out and make for an enjoyable read.
