Functional but not perfect
on November 17, 2011
The dual hard case and soft silicone was a nice combination however the fit isn't entirely perfect. It does take a bit of tweaking and effort to get the iPod Touch to fit right and flush, especially the bottom portion of the case where the connectivity ports are located. The hard case doesn't quite provide enough support to keep the silicone in place at times, it is quite easy to remove the iPod but not enough to cause it to fall out. It's definitely not a tight fit but firm enough to hold. So it does hold it's form unless you tamper with it so as long as you're not abusing it (which I don't see why you would), it should function just fine.
The case is great for my purpose, it provides the grip and protection that meets my standards and I do like the design and feel. My previous case was a hard thin case but it cracked over time so this was a great replacement. What I have to live with is the not-so-perfect bottom portion of the case where I actually have to lift up the silicon a bit to plug in the charger or headphone jack. If you look closely, the hard part of the case on the bottom isn't enough to keep the silicon in place, there's a thin piece that barely keeps the form. So I have to re-adjust it each time. Other than that, it does the job.
Overall, I personally think this was a nice alternative compared to others if you're looking for a replacement case. I don't regret the purchase at all but I'm the type that I can live with the shortcomings with items at this price value.
