Amazing Story !,

Protector is an amazingly exciting tale by TL Gardner about a young man named Elijah Garland, who just can't seem to catch a break. Elijah's life seems to be filled with tragedy and one heartbreak after another. The only escape he has is a world that he has created, in his dreams, where he's the hero who slays the demon he named Reality. Just when Elijah has a real shot at happiness, tragedy strikes yet again. Only this time, Elijah can't bare the latest blow that life has dealt him and he seeks peace; in death. However, he doesn't stay at peace for long, because an Archangel brings him back to fulfill a destiny that he didn't know that he had. Once Elijah awakens from death, right away, he notices that he's very different. Physically, his strength has increased and his hair is...white. He also discovers that he is accused of a murder that he did not commit.
Now, Elijah must learn what his destiny is and prove that he didn't murder the love of his life. It certainly won't be easy because not only is the FBI on his trail, but he'll encounter all sorts of demons along the way. What makes Protector stand out is that TL Gardner puts a refreshing new twist on the heaven vs. hell saga. The story was a very good read and it had everything; love, action, mystery, suspense and just the right amount of humor. When TL Gardner wrote a fight scene, he described it with such detail that you thought you were witnessing it! Believe me when I say that the cover doesn't do this book justice (would've love to see Elijah with the white hair), because it is a very good read! The only reason I gave this book four stars instead of five is because I felt that more background story on the heaven vs. hell war should've been included and I wanted to see more of Gabriel. I loved that character! However, I hope that more background to the war and other loose ends will be tied up in the sequel to this book, Sacrifice. I can tell that The Demon Hunter Series is going to be a good one and I look forward to reading future books by this author. Reviewed by LaShonda Bates for Urban Reviews

The moment I got this I was impressed with something different. Those who read this book is taken on a journey through the eyes of Elijah. You get to find out what he is, what he protects, and the events that lead up to his becoming the "protector." Excellent, I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone.

Elijah Garland is tired of life as he knows it. Just as he experiences some kind of happiness, something happens to take it away from him. It's as if he isn't meant to be anything other than miserable and alone. It is in that misery that he finally accepts his fate, accepts defeat and shoots himself in the head, taking his own life. One wonders how all of that comes to pass in the first few pages of PROTECTOR (formerly DEMON HUNTER) by T. L. Gardner, but only one who hasn't read previous work by this talented young author. Instead of death being the end for Elijah, he wakes up in the hospital days later without any apparent damages. His mother and sister are happy to see him alive, but the doctors and the police don't quite understand the "hows" of his recovery and want to run tests and interrogate him. Elijah doesn't question it too much either. He just makes a run for it and eventually it is revealed to him that he has been chosen from birth to right some of the wrongs in the world, to take battle against the forces of darkness (demons, minions, and even Lucifer himself) who are trying to take over their world. With his twin swords Enobe and Soul Seeker, he sets out on the mission. He is "The Protector" and he uses his past pain and rage to guide him on his journey. Being chased by the police, he encounters FBI Agent Ebonee Lane to whom he immediately feels an attraction. She is undercover on a case which she finds has some connection to Elijah and just as she thinks she knows what's going on, everything around her changes and she ends up fighting for her life. Through both their travels and the battles with the human and supernatural forces around them, they are tested on love, faith, and the meaning of life. PROTECTOR (formerly DEMON HUNTER) is a mesmerizing and emotional trek through the landscape of good and evil, love and hatred, life and death. T. L.
