Terrific inspirational suspense story, my favorite thus far in the Witness Protection series. A young woman hopes a job on a secluded ranch will keep her safe. A story with heart and suspense, I loved it.

Christian Romantic Suspense,

Operation Black Veil: The woman in the black veil has told FBI Special Agent Jackson McGraw that Salvatore Martino, former don of the Martino Crime family, is seriously ill. It has been confirmed that his son wants to kill Eloise Hill, the girl who put his father behind bars, before he dies as a tribute to him.
As long as she keeps changing her name & moving locations, she can stay a step ahead of the men she has testified against. She left the Witness Protection Program 2 years ago & is going it alone. A nurse by trade, Hannah Williams applies for the job of caring for rancher Austin Taylor's disabled daughter, Misty. She would be safe there, out of the way for a couple of months. She wasn't supposed to let the family enter her heart. Austin Taylor has vowed not to let another woman close. Ranching is his life & women can't handle the remoteness - his late wife certainly couldn't. She caused the accident which took her life & left their daughter badly injured. But the new nurse seems different & creeps into his heart, bringing to life a part of him he thought was long since dead...until she tells him who she actually is. The mob are looking for green-eyed women in a certain age range who are in or have been in the Witness Protection Program hoping to track down a certain Eloise Hill, & Hannah is next on the list. Will Austin let the hurts of the past distance him from Hannah, or will he step up & be her cowboy protector? I loved this continuation in the "Protecting the Witnesses" Series - this book is #3. You really do need to read these books in order as each book, while a story on it's own, also has a plot which runs & develops through all the 6 books, building up to the grand finale in book 6. This means that you will not only want to read this book, but also the other 5 in the series! So if you are looking for a one off story to read, then this is not the book for you. However, if you are short of reading material & want a series to get you going, then this series will be ideal! Other books in the series: #1 Twin Targets by Marta Perry #2 Killer Headline by Debby Giusti #4 Deadly Vows by Shirlee McCoy #5 Fatal Secrets by Barbara Phinney #6 Risky Reunion by Lenora Worth

I was extremely disappointed with this book. I found myself skimming after only a few pages, just waiting for the end. It was really corny and cliche in the extreme. There is also a lot of focus on religion in the story, and while I know some people like that, it seemed that the religious aspect took precedence over the romance.
Wish you could return kindle books. |
