When I opened the pack and first saw these protectors with no camera or proximity sensor cutouts, I was ready to knock a couple stars off of my review. However, after installing one and using it for a day, I realize that Spigen made the right call in only having one cutout for the speaker.

The proximity sensor is not affected in any way by the protector, there are several apps in the play store you can download to test this. The camera is also unaffected, and the real reason they can get away this is this protector is absolutely, perfectly clear. There is no effect on light transmission whatsoever, and I'll bet 99% of people won't be able to tell a screen protector is installed. The feel is as hard and slick as any plastic screen protector could ever hope to be.

Installation is as easy as any dry protector I've used. I use this with a Spigen Neo Hybrid case (also excellent), and they don't interfere with each other, but there is absolutely no room for error. I used the tape hinge method, with blue masking tape (painter's tape), for my first install attempt. This looked good, but putting the case on peeled a couple corners, confirming a lopsided installation. I decided to redo the installation with the case installed and using it as an alignment guide. This worked great, and despite being removed and having needed dust removed from the sticky side multiple times, my first protector still looks perfect and has developed no bubbles that couldn't be pushed out with my fingers.

My installation advice is if you are going to use a case that covers the screen somewhat, like the Neo Hybrid, install the protector with the case on the phone. Otherwise, if you're not going to use a case, or have an opened face case like the Spigen Ultra Fit, install it with the case off using the tape hinge method. The things you should have on hand for install are a roll of blue masking "painters" tape (4 small stickers are provided, but better safe than sorry), a high quality microfiber cloth (the included one seems decent enough, but I trust my Magic Fiber cloth more), a can of air duster, a bright headlamp, and a clean workspace (which I lack, but would have made this a lot easier).

If you're looking for a protector that's anti-glare or anti fingerprint, keep looking. If you want something to protect the glass without changing anything else, these are perfect.

My Nexus 5 sports both this SPIGEN Screen Protector and a SPIGEN Neo Hybrid case. This product came with three screen protectors, but after maybe a 5 - 10 minute installation process, I only had to use one to get it perfect. Perfectly aligned, no bubbles, no dust underneath. I had to pull it up twice after application to get it lined up exact on both sides and at one point needed to use the included dust tape to pull a dust particle away. Process was as easy as these things can be.

I went directly from the Sprint provided protection film to immediately applying this protector, so I do not know how the included cloth does on removing fingerprints. It did remove all the dust, as I peered and brushed at the screen under a bright light.

(And yes - with any screen protector application, you should attempt installation in a fairly dust-free environment. I don't recall there being instructions included - so you should google how to do this if you're unfamiliar with screen protector installation.)

The product is clear and fairly smooth to the touch. If you're like me and are terribly sensitive to noticing these things, you may feel that there is a slight bit extra drag when you run your fingers over the screen - but it's not in any way irritating or sticky. It does not have cutouts for the sensor - that's true - but it does not interfere with the way that the sensor works. I actually prefer this, as it's one less cutout for randomness to manage to inexplicably get underneath, you know? I don't actually use the front camera on my devices but I did test it with and without the protector. It's the same to me. This is not a fingerprint magnet, but it is also not anti-fingerprint.

I have no conflicts between this screen protector and the SPIGEN Neo Hybrid case that I also have on. I applied the screen protector first, and then snapped on the Neo Hybrid. There is no bubbling - but then again, I did make sure to install it very straight and centered, with just a few millimeters between the end of the protector and the edge of the phone.

I had been considering between this protector and SPIGEN's other, more expensive ones (with the higher hardness measures). Since I don't ever throw my phone in with my keys or with change, I'm confident of this product's ability to protect my screen.

As of right now, I am very pleased with this item.

It was very nice to find the "dust removal stickers" in the package. It seems like everytime in the past I have managed to have an annoying piece of dust land on the sticky surface before putting the protector on the phone, and you can't use your fingers to get it off. Having these stickers made this the best installation of screen protectors I have ever done...

I haven't installed a screen protector in quite a while so my first attempt was nearly successful, I only ended up with 1 piece of dust. My second attempt was perfect. This screen protector works perfectly and does not hinder screen performance.

I want to start off by saying this is the best screen protector i have used, ever.

the reason its the best is because its so clear, it doesn't cause any unwanted rainbowing effect or any weird color distortion it is super clear and simple.

also people keep complaining about how there is only the one cutout for the speaker, that is the ONLY cut out this needs, the proximity sensor works perfectly fine and the camera doesn't get bothered by it either, i'm happy it only has the one cutout because when i look at the phone or other people look at the phone, it doesn't look like it has one.

i also wanted to address the concern some people have on how the screen protector feels, i think it feels really smooth compared to other brands, probably the smoothest screen protector i have come in contact with

i also wanted to say be careful when using the cloth that came with it, it leaves some dust flakes no matter how well it is wiped, so it ended up giving me lots of bubbles so i ended up using a different cloth, but the protector is perfect!

UPDATE: 11/16
dropped to 4 stars...so i sent spigen an email a couple days ago about a case i had ordered and also about the screen protectors and warranty, i have not gotten an answer back about it, which is frustrating, i went for this because of the lifetime warranty... hopefully i get an answer soon

This cover fit Perfect for my Nexus once I got it on. The only 2 problems I had were that it did not come with a rigid installation card to help smooth out bubbles with the installation, and it did not come with instruction. The latter issue with the instructions wasn't a huge deal you just go to Spigen's web site. Perhaps they were trying to be sound and cut back on paper but then at least a brief instruction set could have been printed on the package. Really, I just would have appreciated a rigid smoothing card. Luckily I had one left over from an old screen protector kit and I used that. Past those issues its a great product.

Nothing bad to say, these feel great - as far as plastic screen protectors go, are totally clear, can hardly tell its on there, except for feel of course. They're cheap. And you get three. I tried the more expensive glas SPIGEN protector first - these are a better deal for sure.

Minimal bubbles and they are easy to get out and corner to corner protection.
For the price you really can't beat it and you can afford to change them out more often when they do get scratches.
Great feel on the fingers, I really don't notice that its there at all. Its a lot better than the spray one as these don't feel all gummy on the fingers.
I would say this is the first screen protector I actually enjoy.
It only has 2 small downsides to it
1. Cut out is a little TOO tight, get the angle wrong in the slightest you got to reapply because there is absolutely extra no room around the earphone cut out, also if you are putting it in a case the slightest miscalculation and its bumping into the case and causing it to lift and it wont last as long when stuff gets stuck under it.
2. There is no cut out for the camera which affect the picture quality a little bit.

Very exact fit for Nexus 5. I installed it right after I took the protective screen cover off the phone. No dust. I started at the top with the microphone hole and close to top edge and laid it down and it magically adhered to the glass. No squeegy needed. I guess I was a tiny bit too high and I can't get one corner to completely adhere at top. there must be a slight ridge on glass. I didn't want to take it off and retry, so if it becomes an issue I have 2 others to try.

Upon buying this product, I was initially extremely skeptical. Partially because the Nexus 5's gorilla glass is incredibly durable and I wasn't really sure if I needed a screen protector, and also because I wasn't sure if the price was worth it.

However, the screen protector has performed above and beyond what I could have asked for. In terms of daily use, there have been no issues with contact response. It's very easy to swipe, type, etc, on this screenprotector, and I like that it covers pretty much every part of the screen.

But where I really have to sing the praises of this screen protector is the fact that I was holding my phone and crossing the street when I tripped, and completely fell on the asphalt. My front end of my phone ended up completely grinding up against the sidewalk (because I fell with the phone in my hand and my hands took up most of my fall) and when I picked it up, there were giant scratches all over the screen protector. However, when I peeled off the screen protector, the actual screen of my phone was completely unblemished and looked pretty much the same as the day I got it. I'm typing this review pretty much in response to this event, but I'm really glad that I had the screen protector on, and the fact that I have two more just in case this ever happens again.
