The two Practical Approach volumes on protein-ligand interaction do not comprise a comprehensive compilation of all the methods that can be used to investigate protein-ligand interactions. Stephen Harding is a DSc from Pembroke College, Oxford. He was an Oppenheimer Fellow at Cambridge & is now Professor of Applied Biochemistry at Nottingham. Fellow scientists know him as a Biomolecular Hydrodynamicist with over 350 publications & he is a Medallist of the Royal Society of Chemistry. The public know him for his work on Vikings & DNA, particularly in the region of his origins - Wirral near Liverpool in NW England. Steve has appeared in many TV & radio broadcasts, featuring in all 3 series of UK ITV's highly acclaimed Lost Treasures & runs a popular blog with David Griffiths.

In recognition of his outstanding service to Norway in 2012 King Harald V made him a Knight of the First Class of den Kongelige Norske Fortjenstorden - the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit - the highest award to a foreigner who is not a Head of State.
