Editorial Reviews

Review
"Protein NMR Spectroscopy: Principles and Practice covers a huge range of topics related to NMR... A fine two-semester course could be built on this very thorough book. Any student currently using NMR could benefit from the Cavanaugh et al. text, which provides an in-depth explanation that is suitable as a resource for even a knowledgeable spectroscopist."
--NATURE STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY
"All in all, I find the book very, very good. It will fill an important void in the literature/material available in the NMR field.... There are many 'hands on' secrets that will be very valuable to those beginning in the field as well as those who are 'old hands.' It has a distinct advantage over other books in that is was written as a whole, freshly from cover to cover; it is NOT a collection of published articles hurriedly put together with a nice binding."
--DALE F. MIERKE, UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS, AMHERST
"Along with detailed explanations of the mechanisms underlying the modern NMR experiments, the book also brings some "order" to the bewildering array of novel NMR pulse sequences. To practitioners of biomolecular NMR, it will prove invaluable for years to come."

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful Handbook for Protein NMR study, April 28, 2000
By kai zhong (Stony Brook, USA) - See all my reviews
The book is very complete, covers most of the field in protein NMR studies. The book is well organised, with plenty of figures to facilitate easy understanding of the subject. Overall, I find it is very helpful for anyone who will be interested in protein NMR research. I have actually seen quite a number of copies in a few NMR laboratories and I would recommand this book to all those who are looking for an complete introductory book in NMR and protein study.

4.0 out of 5 stars New 'Bible' for Protein NMR, June 15, 2007
By W. Myint (Pittsburgh, PA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is the new standard for Protein NMR spectroscopists (the old one being Ernst). Everyone I've met who uses NMR in biology has nothing but praise for this book. It's not a perfect book and has some weakness, especially in the modelling portions. The math derivations are clear but the authors do not connect back to the physical phenomenon. I would recommend keeping a QM book nearby as a reference. However, this book is well written overall and very complete. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars usefull book, June 15, 2009
This book is very usefull and deserves for even more than only five stars.

People who start they adventure with the protein NMR spectroscopy should learn from the old Wuthrich's book first, which was published in 1986. Beginner should not start his adventure with the protein NMR spectroscopy from working with the multidimentional spectra only. In my opinion man should properly understand 2D NMR spectroscopy of different biomolecules first.

Highly recommended book!
