Protesting Power: War, Resistance, and LawIf you're seriously contemplating an act of civil resistance to protest GWB's disastrous war, or to protest any portion of the military industrial complex that keeps such wars going, this book is a must read. If you've already committed such an act, then that advice goes double. Boyle presents a well laid out road map for defense of civil resistors, including how to find an expert in international law to be a witness for your defense at your trial. Along the way you'll read about other courageous protesters such as Ehren Watada. You'll learn not only why what they did was the right thing to do, but why it was the only thing they could do under the circumstances. This is an incredibly powerful book. If everyone who is against war reads it, then they'll discover that they have the power to stop it. Buy it, read it, take it to the streets. Change the world. |
