This mount is TOUGH! I had bought and installed 5, yes FIVE, OEM transmission mounts in my WS6 only to rip each one of them apart with two months max. To make matters worse, I just bought Corvette C6Z06 wheels for my Trans Am which put a good amount of extra grip on the road on those rear tires. The very first time I cut it loose with those new tires on there it ripped that stock type transmission mount completely in half and slammed the transmission into the underside of my car. I could quickly see this becoming a serious problem and got online to search for a high performance mount that would be able to take the kind of beating I was wanting to put it through. I found this item and from what I read it seemed promising; solid urethane, and from the picture I could tell that the metal actually curved around the urethane in the middle which was something I had thought needed to be done for a long time to further improve the strength. So, I got the item within a few days and my fiance and I put it in the very same day (yes I AM lucky enough to have a woman who will get her hands dirty under my Trans Am with me!). Since I put in this mount I have put some serious abuse on that mount! I powerslide at every opportunity, and take off spinning tires more often than not. With that much rubber on the road and frequently doing 4000 RPM clutch dumps with a high powered clutch(Centerforce all the way!)there is a LOT expected from that one little piece between the transmission and the crossmember, but to this day it has done its duty without the slightest complaint, just sat there patiently day after day handling all the abuse I could dish out. I'd say if you need a transmission mount that you just can't bust, go for this one!

It's perfect fit. This has more vibration than OE stock rubber due to the polyurethane material. If you don't like vibration, I will recommend you to buy the OE rubber mount. Rubber mount will dampen vibration, but it wouldn't last longer than polyurethane.

I just replaced a 21 year old Transmission mount on my 1991 Jeep Wrangler YJ... What a difference it made! The Jeep doesn't shimmy anymore at highway speeds over 63 mph.... And the whole ride feels tighter. the problem I had was getting "frozen" nut and bolts off. I did have to cut the old bolts, on the old mount, off the skid plate. But other than that piece off cake. Had it all done in about an hour and a half.

I bought this mount for my 1995 Camaro 3.4L V6 with the M49 5-speed transmission. The Prothane website and online catalog both state this part number fits my combination. The same part number they claim fits the 3.4L and 3.8L V6 models as well as the LT1. After further research in some online forums I found out this is a known issue that these mounts do not fit either V6 model and Prothane hasn't even take this 21 year old erroneous information off their site. I even called their 800 number during the install and spoke to 'Bill'. I told him all the info on my car and their part number. He didn't even look anything up. He immediately suggested my motor mounts could be loose and offsetting everything. If you look, Prothane doesn't even offer an email address for their company. Their customer service is non-existent and apparently their pre-production research doesn't get much effort either. I have heard all good things about Prothane mounts when they fit, but I can't believe a company formed in 1991 couldn't figure out a problem that started in 1993 and persisted for years. Due to this, I no longer trust that their products fit their intended models. I'll buy polyurethane products from another company.
If you want to use this mount some people have used a bunch of washers as spacers or you can get the crossmember from a 1993-1997 automatic camaro/formula/trans am with an LT1. This one is shaped differently and apparently allows for a proper fit.

This went into an 89 YJ with the BA 10/5 (yeah... let's not dwell on that). As several others have mentioned, the prothane material will introduce a vibration when the mount is under load, mostly when starting from a dead stop. I don't dock too many stars because it's an old Jeep... It just kinda blends in with all the other rattling and vibrating. It did resolve a lot of my vibes at speed though and it tightened up the transmission such that it no longer shifted around under torque. Accelerating felt much better after the old 25 year old mount was replaced. For full effect, I'd also recommend replacing the torque arm bushings at the same time.

This helped me solve the problem of having to change the rubber transmission mount every few years. The poly will hold up a lot better but this can only be added if you have poly motor mounts. If you rubber motor mounts you will damage them. Also be ready for more vibration as the more solid the mount, the more it will transfer vibrations to the chassis. If you just use your car as a daily driver and maybe a few trips to the track, just stick with the stock rubber as it is easier to live with on a day to day basis.
