Just received a copy of this CD. How great is was to hear Matrix, again. I've thoroughly enjoyed the new music. Brings back great memories of listening to Matrix IX, Wizard, Tale of the Whale and Harvest when I was in college!

Any chance the other (past) recordings will be released on CD?

I concur with "a music fan". This was and is a great band! I do hope that their older albums are reissued on CD. For those of you not familiar with Matrix, think Bill Chase instrumentals meets the Brecker Brothers. This is really good music, and still sounds ahead of its time.

Matrix fist came to my attention in the 7os when Tale Of The Whale was played for me on vinyl. Whoa! I was blown away with the aural sound. The brass was impeccible in timbre, and the arrangements were tasty. This album, the so called matrix reunion, was waay overdue. The Proud Flesh suite is the bomb, an obvious ode to Miles Davis (including the scratchy voice narrator). Interstingly, this is a band based out ot Wisconsin, but they have a NYC band sensibility. This CD deserves much wider recognition. Get it, you will be pleasantly surprised. Think Maynard Ferguson in the 'Chameleon" days with just a bit more funk.
