help kids identify their feelings,

This review is from: Proud of Our Feelings (Hardcover)
There are several reasons why I like this book. This book introduces a different character for each feeling, and tells what that child is feeling, why, and how you can tell. On the opposite page is a color illustration of the child, in order to better see his or her body language, expression, and situation. It then asks, "What makes you feel this way?" which opens up a diaglog between you and the child you are reading to. In my work with children, I am always surprised to hear their examples, and grateful that we found a format to help them express themselves. This book not only helps children identify their feelings and develop a "feelings vocabulary," but also teaches children that all feelings are OK and shouldn't be denied or judged.
