3.0 out of 5 stars A book full of comfort.
This book is full of interesting anecdotal material from Rosemary's life and work, but what's really marvelous is the bit at the back in Grey Eagle's own words. His words have an incredible amount of wisdom. They're quotes worthy of being memorized and hung up on every wall.

5.0 out of 5 stars It takes Courage, January 31, 2000
I picked up Rosemary's book and couldn't put it down. I found her message easy to follow and totally uplifting. I found the repetition interesting, as it is a common form of communication from our spiritual guides. I also found it interesting that Gray Eagle did not resolve her issues in her relationship. It would have been disappointing -- spirit guides do not resolve issues for us since that is part of our journey. I think Rosemary's personal story was a part of her own healing and encouraging to those who have similar issues in their own lives. I've seen her on television and read her books and "egomania" is not a term I would ever associate with her spirit. She appears to teach through example. I found her approach to healing to be realistic. Only God determines our fate, healing is not always physical in nature, but also on a spiritual level--if you read the book carefully-- brings peace to one's spirit. It takes courage to share one's own interpretation of age old "laws" such as the Ten Commandments. I found her insight thought provoking. For those of us who have been able to reach awareness of our spiritual guides and existence of our loved ones in Afterlife, Rosemary continues to be a teacher who seeks only to encourage and uplift. This book , as in The Eagle and the Rose, continues to guide us in our own studies. Her stories ring a bell of familiarity for those of us who have experienced this awareness, and let us know our community grows stronger. It takes courage to expose your heart and soul--and learn. That's the lesson I appreciated most from this book. A must read for anyone searching their soul, seeking awareness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another wonderful encounter with Rosemary Altea, June 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Proud Spirit: Lessons, Insights & Healing From 'the Voice Of The Spirit World' (Paperback)
In this Rosemary Altea's second book she brings us even closer to the world of spirit and life after life. An inspiration for all that are in need or are in the process of healing. Some ideas in this new book maybe a bit difficult for some to get their minds around, but that's they whole idea-not to use your mind. Read this book with your heart and your soul and the anwsers and questions that you longed for start to unfold. Myself a clairvoyant since birth found this a catalyst for new beginnings, new questions and new answers. If you are wanting to learn more about what there is out there for us, waiting for us. If angels exist, what the universe and spirit is doing to assist us in this human experience, then this is a must read. Rosemary pushes the bounderies of life questions with the help of her spirit guide Grey Eagle, but these are questions that needed to be answered and anwers that needed to be read and heard by the world. Do yourself a favour, if only one-Read Proud Spirit. It will change you-Forever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting reading. But keep in mind what your reading., October 28, 1999
By A Customer
After seeing Rosemary Altea on a talk show. I put this book on reserve from the Library. About 3 months later I finally received a copy to read. I do agree with some of the other reviews. The book was not proofread very well. It was sometimes hard to follow. I found myself reading a sentence over and over again to follow what the author is saying. I was a bit weary about reading this book. Because of my personal Christian beleifs. I was pleased to see there was talk about God, Prayer and Heaven. I am half way through the book and besides the errors in the proofreading itself I find it a interesting topic to read about. Not sure If I believe it all myself but I have been able to pull some good out of it and apply it to my life and lives around me. I am not an avid reader but I do enjoy her writing and stories. I found myself not being able to put it down because I cant wait to see what she says next. I would recommend this book to a person who is having to deal with a loss of a loved one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely a must read for Spiritual guidance., February 21, 1999
This review is from: Proud Spirit: Lessons, Insights & Healing From 'the Voice Of The Spirit World' (Paperback)
Rosemary gives us hope and a way to look forward to the future. A book that anyone who has suffered from low self esteem needs to read. It taught me to take the pain of my childhood and leave it behind and how to finally start liking myself. Please read it with an open mind and heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful, May 12, 2005
This review is from: Proud Spirit: Lessons, Insights & Healing From 'the Voice Of The Spirit World' (Paperback)
I have read most of Rosemary's books to date, and have enjoyed them all. I absolutely love her writing style - it's as if you are talking to a long, lost friend - as well as the insights she provides throughout.

Although parts of this book are quite graphic (in terms of the abuse she suffered as a child and young adult), I think it's necessary for the reader to truely understand what she's gone through to be able to understand her personal spiritual journey. These parts are a bit hard to get through - becuase you feel such a sense of horror that she had to go through these things - but I commend her for being strong enough within herself to share them with all the world. I am sure that through this sharing, she has helped countless others who've experienced similar abuses.

Overall, I would recommend this book to those who are on their own spiritual journey, as well as those interested in the subject of spirituality. A word of caution though, an open mind is needed in order to gain the full impact of the insights offered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Poignant and beautiful..., July 12, 1998
By A Customer
In this sequel to "The Eagle and the Rose", the author's growth is evident. However, she doesn't leave the reader, who may be a novice to these ideas, behind. As a student of the personality of God and the meaning of Life, the insights presented in this book "ring true". Although it is dealing with subjects that "traditional" religion often finds taboo, this book, as well as "The Eagle...", is very much about God's love, mercy, and grace. It envelops the Christian thought, as well as questions many aspects of Christianity that I, too, have questioned, especially the Old Testament. It clarifies our evolutionary thought - moving away from the societal necessities of the Dark Ages, and into what this society has lived and witnessed - the miracles that occur every day - but releases humankind from the disintegrating perils of guilt and shame. I find that, even though the path taken is somewhat different, the insights parallel se! ! veral of those illuminated in "Course in Miracles" and "Conversations with God". I highly recommend this book to any serious student of the Bible as well as anyone simply curious about different interpretations of our Higher Source. There are several pathways to God, not just one. This is another such pathway that can clarify where God is Today, and Always.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended, October 7, 2000
By A Customer
I read both The Eagle and The Rose and Proud Spirit in one weekend. I could not put them down. I liked this one even better than the first because it touched more on our own spirit, and how the way we live our lives really does effect our loved ones who have "survived death." These books really changed my outlook on life. They have forced me to look deep within myself, and have taught me to have more tolerance. I have recommended them to everyone I know!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent reading for Newbies of New Age reading, February 10, 2000
This review is from: Proud Spirit: Lessons, Insights & Healing From 'the Voice Of The Spirit World' (Paperback)
This is one of my favorite "beginner" spiritual primers. It is easy reading and deals with many common issues, providing sound spiritual answers for some of life's most perplexing questions. The writing evokes a deep fondness for Ms. Altea and you feel very kindred with her from the outset. For those who are reticent about spiritual matters, this is a great introduction.

This is a lovely book to read. I found it very insightful, and you may very well learn a lot about yourself from reading it. In the book, Rosemary helps us try to understand why we humans must go through what we go through. I recommend this book for anyone who is having a hard time in his or her life; it will definitely make a big impact and help the person better understand him/herself. The book is very moving, and I often found myself reflecting on my own life. This book can help you find yourself and become a better person.
