5.0 out of 5 stars Irie sound, positive message, June 15, 2010

It doesn't get much better than this. Reggae with some classic metal and punk. I like these guys a lot better than most of their contemporaries, like Pepper, and they play a better live show. This album overflows with positivity, as do all Expendables albums. They are the ultimate feel-good band. Lyrics range from social commentary to environmental activism, and of course peace, love and getting stoned. This album features G Love and members of Slightly Stoopid which contribute to the album nicely. It is at least as good as any of their other albums. The only thing that really sets them apart is they are progressively a bit more polished. I've anticipated this album for a long time and it does not disappoint. Check it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Prove it, May 12, 2010

This album does just that, it proves The Expendables are on the verge of becoming huge. It is another solid release from a band that I have just become familiar with. I first seen this band open for Ziggy Marley and 311 in Seattle and have been hooked since. Radio airwaves are littered with a bunch of fly by night garbage bands that all sound the same. Thank you to The Expendables for some good refreshing music!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Expendables Do It Again., May 17, 2011
This review is from: Prove It (Audio CD)
I've seen on here plenty of mixed reviews!!

'Prove It' demonstrates the progression that 'The Expendables' have made towards a stable band, with a chain of hits under their name. 'Prove It' resembles the bands previous albums with a delightfully fresh mix of trash, reggae rock and alternative. This mix of genres and style provides beautiful contrast, and keeps the album interesting even after listening to it many times. It was this combination that made me personally fall in love with the band, all those years ago, so it's great to hear this delightfully individual sound, once again, and new for 2011!

My advice is to listen to the album yourself! Everyone has their opinion. Alot of people HATE change when it comes to music. People are stating that the band is becoming mainstream, probably due the higher production value of this one, and less references to 'Ganja Smuggling' and other paraphernalia related lyrics.

This album has been much anticipated in my life, and so far, it has not disappointed!
I personally prefer the more chilled, reggae side of The Expendables. Classic tracks such as 'Bowl For Two', 'Minimum wage' and 'Keep It Up' had that specific sound that i like. 'Prove it' provides a few songs similar to these, but again contrasts with the more fast paced, trashy tracks such as 'Night Mission'.

A fantastic track list, maybe not as classic sounding as some of the bands previous albums, but still provides that awesome summery vibe that you won't get from any other band. This is guaranteed to be my summer 2011 soundtrack. Make it yours too!
